Experience:
Bachelor of Laws (LLB) is essential.
Master of Laws (LLM) and/or completion of the Bar Professional Training Course will be considered as an added advantage.
Legal Associate: Minimum 4 years of working experience in law firms or as in-house counsel in MNC/Bank/FI.
Junior Associate: 2 to 3 years of working experience in law firms or as in-house counsel in MNC/Bank/FI.
Research Associate: 1 to 2 years of experience
Membership with the Bangladesh Bar Council (preferred)
Excellent writing and communication skills in both English and Bengali.
Computer literacy and expertise in Microsoft Office and other digital platform/tools.
Excellent analytical ability and critical thinking
The incumbent will be primarily responsible for handling a broad range of legal matters for the Firm’s local and international clients.
Subject to the position, key responsibilities shall include, inter alia:
· Conducting extensive legal research, both online and desktop based on statutes, rules, regulations, case law, judicial precedents, and comparative jurisprudence across multiple areas of law to support advisory, transactional, and litigation matters.
· Analysing and synthesising research findings to prepare research notes, legal memoranda, case summaries and precedential analyses, forming the basis of legal opinions, pleadings and strategic advice.
· Providing specialised legal advice and formal legal opinions on diverse legal issues, including corporate law, labour and employment law, company law, civil law, and criminal law.
· Vetting, reviewing and analysing various legal documents such as deeds, agreements, policies, undertakings and other commercial or regulatory instruments.
· Drafting, reviewing and finalising a wide range of legal documents, contracts, pleadings, legal opinions, and written submissions with accuracy and attention to detail.
· Assisting in the preparation of litigation strategies, briefs, and submissions supported by thorough research on applicable laws and precedents.
· Conducting and participating in meetings, both in person and virtually, with corporate, foreign, and private clients, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
· Supporting senior members of the Firm in ongoing matters and ensuring timely completion of assigned responsibilities in accordance with the Firm’s professional standards.
