Technical & Leadership Skills :

Responsibilities & Context:

Job Context : The Manager will serve as the strategic financial advisor to the Board and senior management, responsible for leading the entire financial ecosystem of the group, including accounting, treasury, budgeting, audits, taxation, financial planning, risk management, and fundraising initiatives. The Manager will also drive strategic planning and execute revenue-enhancing, cost-saving, and funding diversification programs across the group.

Job Responsibilities :

Strategic Financial Leadership :

  • Responsible for managing and maintaining the overall activities of TAX & VAT-related affairs, ensuring compliance and addressing regulatory issues

  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of monthly VAT returns (Musuk 9.1,6.3,6.6) as per NBR Regulation

  • Maintain proper documentation and records as per VAT act 2012 and related SROs

  • Supervise musuk preparation, input-output, VAT rebate claim

  • Ensure deduction of AIT at the appropriate rate from all applicable payments (Suppliers, Services, Etc)

  • Prepare and submit the annual income tax return of the company and support audits conducted by tax authorities

  • Manage TDS-related activities and compliance under Income Tax Ordinance 1984

  • Liaise with NBR, RJSC and other regulatory bodies to resolve issues and ensure compliance

  • Maintain regular communication with auditors, consultants and external stakeholders regarding TAX & VAT matters

  • Coordinate with procurement, production and commercial departments to ensure proper documentation for VAT input credit and AIT compliance

  • In addition, responsible for financial reporting, fund management, budgeting & costing, internal audit activities as per departmental requirement

Revenue Generation & Funding Strategy

  • Innovate and execute strategic plans to generate revenue through both conventional and alternative methods.

  • Design and implement annual and long-term funding strategies including:

  • Bank finance and syndicated loans

  • Supplier and buyer credit models

  • Lead capital structuring and working capital management for diverse operations.

Compliance, Risk & Audit

  • Ensure full compliance with financial regulations across industries — including VAT, Tax, Customs, NBR, BEPZA, BEZA, BB, and BIDA.

  • Establish and oversee internal audit, risk management, and internal control frameworks.

  • Lead statutory and internal audits with external auditors and ensure adherence to all applicable laws.

Operational Excellence

  • Guide and standardize finance operations across business units to improve efficiency and accountability.

  • Oversee financial reporting, costing, inventory control, supply chain finance, and pricing strategies.

  • Ensure cost-effective procurement practices and optimize supplier payment cycles.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Build and lead a team of high-performing finance, accounts, and audit professionals.

  • Foster a performance-driven, ethical, and growth-oriented financial culture.

  • Provide training and mentorship to finance staff across all business units.

Technology, MIS & Documentation

  • Leverage MIS and ERP systems to enhance real-time reporting, analytics, and operational control.

  • Maintain comprehensive financial documentation including contracts, legal papers, regulatory filings, and board communications.

  • Drive digital transformation in financial operations using advanced Excel and other financial tools.
