Educational Requirements:
∎ Masters / MBA with specialization in Warehousing / Supply Chain Management / Logistics or most relevant discipline.
∎ Having an Engineering background will be considered as an added advantage.
∎ Educational qualification can be flexible if the candidate has at least 03 years of professional experience in Warehouse Management, preferably in NGO.

Job Context:
∎ HI has been working in Bangladesh since 1997, with a focus on creating sustainable changes in terms of ensuring the rights and inclusion of people with disabilities in society. HI is an independent and impartial aid organization working in situations of poverty, exclusion, conflict, and disaster throughout Bangladesh. With projects in different districts of the country, HI works not only with people with disabilities and other vulnerable populations, but also with their families, their communities, and local humanitarian actors to respond to their essential needs, improve their living conditions, promote respect for their dignity and fundamental rights, and provide sustainability in its action. As one of the key organizations in the disability sector, HI has a wide range of projects which assist to promote the inclusion of persons with disabilities and their issues in emergency and development contexts, build capacities of local stakeholders, and reduce the impact of natural and human-made disasters. Particularly in Cox`s Bazar district, HI is providing services in rehabilitation, MH/PSS, SRH, protection and inclusive education with an inclusion mainstreaming approach to refugees and host population affected by the forcibly displaced undocumented Myanmar nationals. HI`s multi-sectoral mobile units (MU) and static approach are currently working in 15 camps located in both Teknaf and Ukhiya Upazilas and surrounding host areas providing comprehensive services in physical rehabilitation, primary health care, protection, and MH/PSS.
∎ HI is currently implementing development and humanitarian response project in Kurigram, Sitakindu, and Cox`s Bazar district through 4 project offices (Kurigram, Sitakundu, Ukhiya, and Teknaf) and 2 coordination offices( Dhaka and Cox Bazar).
∎ Operational Thematic: Livelihood, Health and Rehabilitation, Protection, Inclusion, Education and Atlas Logistic
∎ Number of staffs: Around 283 National staff and 9 international staff
∎ HI is currently looking for a Log. Warehouse Officer for its Logistics- Supply Chain department. The Log. Warehouse Officer is responsible to manage the warehouse in Ukhiya including receiving, tagging, counting, cleaning, dispatching, reconciling quantity, archiving documents, reporting all items stored in the warehouse in compliance with HI warehousing procedures The Log. Warehouse Officer is responsible to provide accurate information and tools related to the warehouse with all internal parties such as procurement, technical, meal, and project teams
∎ Job Location: Ukhiya under Cox`s Bazar district. From the date of joining candidate must have to stay in Ukhiya under his/her own residential arrangement
∎ Line Manager: Area Supply Chain Manager
∎ Type of Contract: Fixed-term
∎ Duration of the Contract: From as early as possible to 31 July 2022 with the possibility of an extension

Job Responsibilities:
∎ 1. Ensuring the proper receipt and dispatch of goods
∎ Organize and plan before receiving supplier delivery with coordination with SC team members and dispatching of goods based on programme request.
∎ Provide advance instructions to workers/ handlers on the proper way of manual loading and unloading operations.
∎ When receiving ensure the presence of a technical person, if pertinent, to verify the model, specification of the goods. Also, verify the quality and quantity of the goods.
∎ Preparation of the receipt note and delivery note with relevant comments.
∎ Update stock card, stock follow-up, if pertinent, and other necessary documents upon receiving and dispatching goods.
∎ On dispatch for distribution, include the format of the donation certificate and follow up to get one signed copy for the warehouse.
∎ 2. Storage area maintenance, safety, and security
∎ Keep the storage area clean and maintain the goods at a usable stage. Hire daily workers when necessary.
∎ Maintain that only authorized persons can enter the storage area and users comply with security rules.
∎ At the end of the shift, ensure that all storage areas are secured with locks.
∎ Carry out security inspection after working hours periodically.
∎ Identify necessary security risks and improvements and communicate with the line manager and DAM the soonest.
∎ Ensure personal protective equipment before handling the cargo.
∎ Immediately inform to line manager & DAM of any security information or incidents.
∎ Understand and ensure the application of HI's internal regulations, procedures, and security rules.
∎ 3. Human resources management
∎ Hire daily workers as per the need and supervise them in implementing the work.
∎ Prepare the daily worker contract and forward it to the line manager.
∎ Ensure induction to the daily workers on HI rules and code of conduct.
∎ Follow up daily worker attendance and maintain daily worker database.
∎ Prepare daily worker payment documents.
∎ 4. Reporting, documentation, and internal activities
∎ Prepare weekly stock release update in and share with the requester.
∎ Assist to conduct training on safety and security, hygiene behavior, PPE to the daily workers.
∎ Maintain all stock-related documents (stock card, bin card, reception note, donation certificate) up to date.
∎ Prepare monthly internal stock report and send to line manager.
∎ Reconcile between reception note, stock card, release note, donation certificate, distribution list, and stock report on a monthly basis.
∎ Carry out overall stock inventory on a quarterly basis and report to line manager.
∎ Assist ASCM while preparing reports for donors & audits.
∎ 6. Ethics and Professional Practice
∎ Show professional ethics, respect, and promote Handicap International mandate.
∎ Respect the Handicap International protection of children policy and protection of beneficiaries from sexual exploitation and abuse policy and report to your line manager any non-respect of HI’s policies amongst the teams or partners.
∎ Respect the Handicap International policy and mechanisms for the prevention of, and fight against, FRAUD and bribery and report to your line manager any non-respect of HI’s policies amongst the teams or partners.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 25 to 60 years
∎ At least 02 years of experience in warehouse management, preferably in NGO.
∎ Knowledge of warehouse reporting.
∎ Good organizing ability.
∎ The ability to communicate both in Bangla and English is mandatory.
∎ Ability to operate in a cross-cultural environment requiring flexibility.
∎ Autonomous but also a good team player.
∎ Excellent computer skills including Ms. excel and words.
