Education and Experience:

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM)/MSc in Animal Science from any reputed university 

• At least 2 years of professional experience in project management, preferably in livestock service related project.

• Strong understanding of project management methodologies and principles.

• Experience working with government agencies and local communities in Bangladesh in an asset.

• Practical knowledge and experiences on IEC/BCC materials development.   

• At least 2 years

• Willing to frequent field visit (50%-time field visit different location in country)

• Managerial skill to manage a project

Duration of the Position: One (01) year initially

Job Location: Chuadanga District with frequent field visit in other project areas (at least 70% of time)

WAVE Foundation is a civil society organization established in 1990, has been implementing multifaceted activities for the socio economic development of the poor and marginalized as well as the establishment of universal human rights and good governance. Besides, the organization is conducting issue based policy advocacy and campaigns. WAVE is driven by its motto `Together for Better Life’ towards the vision of establishing `A just and Prosperous society’. WAVE has organized its activities into 6 programmes: 1) Poverty Eradication and Livelihood Development 2) Community Financing and Entrepreneurship Development 3) Agri-Food System Transformation 4) Governance, Rights and Justice 5) Social Development and Youth Empowerment 6) Climate Justice and Renewable Energy Promotion. WAVE Foundation is going to implement a Project supported by PKSF. For implementing the project WAVE Foundation is seeking qualified candidate for the position of the ‘Livestock Officer’.

Job Responsibilities

The Livestock Officer will provide technical assistance to household level farms, organize animal vaccine and health camp at field level, provide training for staff and farmers, data management at central level, knowledge gathering in organization level regarding animal insurance. Prepare project report, case studies and document of best practice etc. Liaison with Upazilla and District livestock office, BLRI and different research organization.
