LLB / LLM or equivalent postgraduate degree in law would be an advantage.
Minimum 8 -10 years of experience practicing law, preferably with a recognized law firm or legal department at any reputed company.
Qualified lawyer admitted to the Bangladesh Bar Council with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B./LLM) degree from a recognized institution.
Strong knowledge of Bangladeshi laws and regulations, particularly in areas relevant to the industry.
Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex legal concepts clearly and concisely.
Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, with a proactive and solution-oriented approach to legal issues.
High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information.
Develop strategies for litigating against customers who have defaulted on credit extended by the organization. This involves analyzing the legal aspects of each case, assessing risks, and determining the most effective approach to pursue.
Manage a portfolio of all litigations. This includes drafting legal documents, such as complaints, motions, and discovery requests, as well as representing the organization in court proceedings.
Conduct legal research to stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and precedents related to litigation. Analyze how these legal developments may impact the organization`s litigation strategy.
Assess the potential risks and liabilities associated with litigation. Provide recommendations to the organization`s management on risk mitigation strategies and settlement options.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including sales departments, collections departments, land departments and external legal counsel, to ensure alignment on litigation strategies and objectives.
Ensure that all litigation activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies. Stay informed about changes in legal requirements that may affect litigation practices.
Negotiate settlements with defaulted customers or their legal representatives when appropriate. This may involve negotiating payment plans, settlements, or other arrangements to resolve the default and minimize losses for the organization.
Maintain accurate records of all litigation activities, including case files, correspondence, and settlement agreements. Prepare regular reports for management on the status of litigation cases and outcomes.
Stay updated on developments in litigation practices, and regulations through continuing education, professional development seminars, and participation in relevant industry associations.
