∎ Tdh has been present and active in Bangladesh since 1974 and focuses its work on Migration, tackling child labour, health, child protection, WASH, Access to Justice and humanitarian aid. We are currently working in Dhaka, Cox`s Bazar, Ukhia, Teknaf and Kurigram.
∎ Project: Child Labour-Action-Research-Innovation in South and South-Eastern Asia (CLARISSA)
∎ Purpose of Role:
∎ The Lead Community Mobiliser will play a vital role in the day-to-day operations of complementary activities as part of a community-based relational component in an urban slum in Dhaka. The intervention involves needs-based community organising, including bi-monthly monitoring, individual and household level casework, and collective actions. The intervention also provides regular cash transfers, which the strong community mobilisation will accompany. This position and another Lead Community Mobiliser will be supervised by the Senior Social Protection Focal Point and will work closely with a team of 19 Community Mobilisers in the field. The Lead Community Mobiliser will supervise 8 to 10 community mobilisers. S/he will be the key player in setting up, implementing, managing and monitoring complementary activities as part of the social protection intervention.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Contribute to the design, facilitation, and implementation of social protection-related activities, including cash transfer and community mobilisation, and capacity development activities
∎ Manage the organisation and mobilisation of the community and be responsible for community mobilisation activities in the field
∎ Work closely with multiple stakeholders, including children, their families, community people, employers, and association
∎ Ensure the delivery of timely reports related to community organising
∎ Assist in conducting studies and research in the field by networking with community and stakeholders, identifying groups, organising sessions and arranging logistics needed in the field
∎ Assist in data collection, mapping exercises, maintaining and updating the database and ensuring the quality of data being collected by fellow Community Mobilisers
∎ Assist in designing participatory methods for engaging with different stakeholder groups - in consultation with the country coordinator and social protection focal point
∎ Work with the safeguarding focal point to assess risks and local mitigation (e.g. referral resources) relating to participatory processes
∎ Report on social protection interventions in the field and document progresses in line with the programme's Monitoring and Learning Framework
∎ Identify capacity development/ mentoring needs of Community Mobilisers, and coach and mobilise them as per the need of the programme, likely organising complementary training
∎ Respond and adjust to a flexible activity scheduling, adaptive management structure, or social dynamics involving the community and its expectations
∎ Undertake any other duties that the supervisor may determine
∎ Security and child safety: Understands and applies security policies, the Child Safeguarding Policy and fraud prevention policies
∎ Other: Accept new responsibilities as and when those are assigned by the supervisors

Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum 3 years' experience in similar role in community mobilisation, with strong understanding and experience in community organising.
∎ COMPETENCIES
∎ Demonstrated experience in working with children and communities in disadvantaged contexts, especially in Dhaka slum
∎ Experience of nonviolent communication or related person-centred methodologies
∎ Experience and knowledge of safeguarding and risk assessment with vulnerable and marginal groups
∎ Excellent planning, facilitation, and coordination skills and project management support
∎ Fluency in Bangla and good command of spoken and written English
∎ Excellent verbal communication and facilitation skills
∎ Excellent skills in Microsoft Office
∎ Good understanding of the realities faced by children in the worst forms of child labour and those who are vulnerable to being drawn into it
∎ Passion for the programmed approach, e.g., participatory approach, child centeredness
∎ Self-motivated, comfortable in working in adaptive management approaches
∎ Commitment to team and collaborative working
∎ Comfortable facilitating emergent processes, allowing outcomes to emerge through dialogue and action over time.
∎ Others:
