Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Operations of Laboratory (sample collection, testing, report delivery).
∎ Transcribing report to software and delivery of report.
∎ Inventory management of Lab.
∎ Maintain cleanliness, quality and infection control protocol.
∎ Perform QC of lab equipment.
∎ Maintain patient register for pathology unit.
∎ Ensure care & maintenance of all the lab instruments & equipment.
∎ Carrying out day to day regular & emergency lab procedures.
∎ Sample collection of blood, urine, sputum and stool when needed.
∎ Generate software-based report and preserve all report/date in the software.
∎ Ensure availability of all related reagents & logistics of Laboratory.
∎ Deliver the report on time.Help clinical team in various activities.
∎ Assist Lab Technologist in preparing samples and tests.
∎ Prepare monthly/quarterly requisition of reagents, stationaries, chemicals & consumable items for Laboratory.
∎ Inform the Hospital Manager about any problem with the equipment and maintain Down time resister.
∎ Prepare monthly report and send it to management.
∎ Be flexible for roster duty.
∎ Maintain daily quality checklist and temperature monitoring checklist and preserve for submission.
∎ Perform any task assigned by the line manager.
∎ General Maintenance and cleanliness of the laboratory and X-ray department.
∎ Perform QC of lab equipment.
∎ Maintain & monitor infection prevention procedures as per protocol.
∎ Cleanliness of refrigerator of laboratory.
∎ Maintain checklist for lab refrigerator and major equipment.
∎ Maintain sterility & cleanliness of lab & collection room and dispose of wastage properly as per IPC guidelines.
∎ Need to show empathy to the patients.
∎ Need to explain all the procedure to patients before performing phlebotomy.
∎ Reduce waiting/queue time for the patient.
∎ Ensure patient privacy and confidentiality.
∎ Ensure safety of patients.
∎ The own service area will be his or her own responsibility, everything related to this room will be own duty and accountability to be fulfilled.
∎ Appropriately follow safeguarding policy.
∎ Should be able to work as helping hand in X-ray unit when/if needed.
∎ Should be able to work in remote setting, under extreme work stress with limited resources.
∎ Diploma in Medical Technology (Laboratory) from recognized IHT.
∎ 1-2 years of relevant experience (Experience in NGOs will be preferred).
∎ Excellent communication skills and desire to learn.
∎ High commitment & motivation to work in remote places specially in riverine areas.
∎ Strong interpersonal skills.
∎ Good teamwork exposure.
∎ Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) are other pre-requisites.
