∎ DMF from a government-recognized institute with valid BMDC registration or Bachelors in Public Health or a related field with a focus on infection prevention and control.

∎ Previous experience in infection prevention and control, preferably in humanitarian settings or with vulnerable populations.
∎ Familiarity with IPC guidelines, protocols, and best practices in refugee settings.
∎ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively train and educate healthcare workers and community members, considering potential language and cultural barriers.
∎ Proficiency in English and local languages is preferred for effective communication.
∎ Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and ability to work with diverse communities and refugee populations.
∎ PSEAH and Child Safeguarding Policies: Sound knowledge on PSEAH and child safeguarding policies.

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ As an IPC (Infection Prevention and Control) focal person, his/her role is crucial in preventing and managing infectious diseases within the community. This role involves working in a challenging and resource-constrained environment to implement effective measures that safeguard the health and well-being of the vulnerable population.
∎ Adherence to IPC Guidelines: Ensure that all the staff of the PHC strictly adhere to IPC guidelines and standard protocols. Ensure that IPC protocols are followed in each section of the hospital and maintain the monthly IPC status monitoring board diligently.
∎ Hand Hygiene Promotion: Promote proper hand hygiene practices among healthcare workers, patients, and community members to prevent the transmission of infections.
∎ Environmental Cleaning and Waste Management: Monitor and ensure proper cleaning and disinfection practices in healthcare settings and the community. Implement safe waste management practices to reduce infection risk.
∎ Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Management: Oversee the appropriate use and availability of personal protective equipment among healthcare workers.
∎ IPC trainings, sessions, and workshops: Conduct need based trainings, workshops, and sessions on IPC with the hospital and project staff.
∎ Community Engagement: Engage with the host and refugee community to raise awareness about infection prevention and control measures, address concerns, and foster a sense of ownership in promoting health and hygiene practices.
∎ Coordination and Collaboration: Collaborate with other health and humanitarian organizations, NGOs, and government agencies to ensure a coordinated and effective response to infectious disease outbreaks and other health emergencies.
∎ Regular monitoring of IPC measures and ensure that IPC protocols are followed properly by all the staff and the patients in the PHC.
∎ Maintain constant liaison with the field team and local regulatory bodies.
∎ Support the facility in charge in efforts to maintain a positive organizational climate with the highest professional and ethical standards.
∎ Support planning and coordination of program and its activities.
∎ Support growth and program development.
∎ Ensure that all standardized forms are used and guidelines are followed strictly.
∎ Develop and maintain a transparent and supportive communication structure with colleagues to ensure they are kept informed of relevant activities and requirements.
∎ Keep updated records and create reports or proposals.
∎ Administer team meetings and take notes/actions.
∎ Initiate procurement of necessary IPC related items in consulting with facility in charge; Keep constant follow up of the PR.
