∎ Bachelor degree in law or any other relevant subject or demonstrable equivalent experience.

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Support Country Director in reviewing and drafting all legal documentation as provided and guided by the CD.
∎ Provide support and guidance to Country Director on Employment and other laws, policies, and procedures of Muslim Aid as well as of the Government so that appropriate decision is made by the Country Director.
∎ Support HR to carry out the investigation as advised by CD.
∎ To keep under review the full suite of MABCO’s operational policies, and ensure that these are consistent with the relevant legislation, best practice, and donor requirements, and to establish a system of periodic review and revision of such policies, as appropriate;
∎ Provide legal advice and guidance to the management team on corporate law matters
∎ Working closely with CD where appropriate, maintain and develop risk management systems and processes.
∎ Represent the organization at key forums/events and build the credibility of MABCO through the visibility of its work.
∎ Proactively build a good network of key contacts in the government, donors, I/NGOs, and other relevant stakeholders. General
∎ Proactively promote and implement equality of opportunities and diversity initiatives across the CO operations.
∎ Maintain and store all records in hard and/or soft copy formats in line with the internal data management and IT policies.
∎ Comply with all policies, procedures, legal and regulatory requirements.
∎ Champion Muslim Aid values in the performance of own work.      Perform any other duties commensurate with the accountabilities of the post.
∎ Taking minutes during meetings attended by the CD
∎ Participate in MABCO’s strategic development, including attending internal meetings, strategy away days, etc.;
∎ Ensure that the organization’s operations comply with all relevant laws and regulations of the Bangladesh Government
∎ To undertake other tasks, duties, or responsibilities as requested by your Line Manager or other Senior Manager.
∎ Job Purpose: The Personal Assistant to CD ensures that Muslim Aid Bangladesh Country Office (MABCO) complies with internal and external regulations, policies, and procedures. S/he works with Country Director to identify regulatory risks and designs and oversees the implementation of internal controls to ensure compliance across all MABCO operations and programmes. The role supports and ensures the implementation of strong compliance practices in a range of areas including but not limited to Serious incidents, legal framework, due diligence, anti-money, anti-bribery/corruption, anti-fraud, and anti-money laundering/terrorism practices, code of conduct and safeguarding policies, etc. S/he will review and draft all legal documents provide legal support to different units and also perform in the company secretarial role. S/he liaison with different departments and Ministries and also with the NGO Bureau office.
