∎ Master's degree in Food Technology or relevant subject, and or MBA.

Job Context:
∎ Shamortha Plus, a USAID and Helvetas program, will collaborate with the Bangladesh private sector to mitigate the economic impact of COVID-19 on food-processing companies and marginalised women and youth. For Shamortha Plus project, Helvetas Bangladesh is currently seeking applications for the position of "Intern" from candidates who will assist the project team in possible working areas "Barishal, Habiganj, Norshindi " for the agro-food processing company.
∎ The intern will assist the agro-food processing company in conducting outreach campaigns, skills training and quality assurance. S/he will assist the agro-food company to ensure the employment of skill-trained workers. S/he will be responsible for monitoring and evaluation, information collection and reporting. In addition, contributes to knowledge management and communication.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Support the factory focal person of the agro-food processing company to identify and select suitable job seekers to enrol in the skill training program.
∎ Prepare a comprehensive weekly/monthly plan or calendar including the deadline for outreach, skill training, and employment in consultation with the factory focal person and follow up the plan.
∎ Support factory focal person to implement the plan activities and monitor the progress; and report to Shamortha plus project.
∎ Ensure the quality of skills training by observing the skills training session, interviewing the trainee, and overseeing the attendance sheet and dropout rate.
∎ Regularly communicate with the Shamortha Plus project team, and update the progress of assigned tasks; communicate with master trainers and support them as necessary to ensure the quality of skills training.
∎ Jointly work with the factory focal person to reduce the drop-out rate of job seekers, especially women through clear salary and benefits
∎ Facilitate private company (PC) to provide additional benefits such as a subside lunch, health facilities, daycare facilities for babies, transport etc.
∎ Support PC to record keeping of hired Shamortha+ beneficiaries including salary growth and report to Shamortha Plus project.
∎ Data collection from beneficiaries using the Kobo tools during the skills training and from households.
∎ Maintain communication with MEAL Advisor Shamortha Plus project during the training period and supply the data as per the prescribed Excel sheet.
∎ Prepare a job placement/Quality Assessment database and follow-up data quality.
∎ Assist in baseline and final evaluation data collection following a prescribed format.
∎ Assist in case story/success story collection and short studies for the Shamortha+ Project.
∎ Sending the final list of trainees before starting the skills training.
∎ Participate in sharing and exchanging learnings event - organized by PC.
∎ Ensure to collect the survey/FGD data, RCT data as per HELVETAS requirements.
∎ Any other tasks assigned to project-related activities by higher authorities.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 24 years
∎ Six months to one year experience in the development field is preferred.
∎ Eager to learn and work with the food processing companies.
∎ Willingness to get familiarized with Helvetas Code of Conduct.
∎ Good working knowledge of ICT (email, internet and computer applications e.g. MS Office, Teams, Outlook etc.)
∎ Good command of English (written and verbal)
∎ Strong Communication Skill
∎ A good team player
∎ Ability to work on own initiative

Salary:
∎ Based on the academic qualification, Helvetas will offer an Intern BDT. 15,000/- to BDT. 20,000/- per month. In addition, the Intern is entitled to annual and other leave according to the Internship policy of Helvetas Bangladesh.
