Job Context:
∎ Inclusive livelihood opportunity for Covid-19 affected households in three districts of Bangladesh is a one-year project under Muslim Aid UK, Bangladesh Field Office (MABFO) which aims to equip its technical and vocational institutes with more resources to train community members and help them gain the skill they would require getting into a job. The development of skills can contribute to structural transformation and economic growth by enhancing employability and labor productivity of the community during Covid-19 situation. Investment in a high-quality workforce can create a virtuous cycle, where relevant and quality skills enable productivity growth which result in more and better jobs for the current workforce and more public and private investment in the non-traditional skills. This project will facilitate Muslim Aid Institute of Technology (MAIT) in Jashore, Rangpur, Mirpur and Mohammdpur under MABFO to increase the employability and productivity for both the current and future workforce.
∎ This 12 months project will take the initiative to increase livelihood opportunities for youth and families across 3 districts in Bangladesh, by supporting MAIT in Jashore/Rangpur/Mirpur/Mohammadpur through updating their facilities, delivering 12 livelihood training modules, alongside additional business materials for selected trades, conducting a job fair, supporting beneficiaries with covid-19 materials, conducting a covid-19 impact study on the TVET sector, and providing cash grant to selected families.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ To plan and structure individual learning experiences, including curriculum mapping, schemes of work and lesson plans
∎ To plan sessions with clear and suitable learning objectives that form part of the appropriate scheme of work
∎ To promote, facilitate and encourage individual learning and group learning
∎ To prepare sessions which build on previous learning and which encourage students to question
∎ To identify appropriate teaching and learning techniques, using appropriate assessment methods to measure learning and achievement
∎ Effectively engage learners with a delivery style that is clear, concise, energetic and relevant.
∎ To review the learning process with learners, within the education team and with mentors
∎ To keep tracking and reporting documents up-to-date as required by the reporting cycle
∎ To select and develop resources to ensure well-prepared, interesting and relevant learning
∎ To plan for future practice and assist the development, organisation and review of learning
∎ Good subject knowledge and an understanding of current education requirements
∎ To monitor, record and report student progress and attainment at regular intervals in liaison with the Principal
∎ To invigilate exams and act as a reader/scribe for young people as required
∎ To act as assessor for access arrangements and qualifications as required
∎ To conduct skills gap analyses
∎ To map out long-term training plans for internal teams
∎ To prepare educational material (e.g. design manuals and order books)
∎ To select educational methods, like on-the-job coaching, conferences, workshops and e-learning courses
∎ To schedule regular soft-skills development and management training.
∎ Utilize innovative classroom techniques and methodologies that involve students in challenging learning opportunities;
∎ Prepares class sessions and assignments to help students grasp course content and how it integrates with overall student learning outcomes for the course
∎ Observe and evaluate student performance in meeting course objectives and learning outcomes through assignments, projects, discussions, or examinations; provide feedback in a timely manner on student progress
∎ Maintain records of enrolment and attendance, assessments and grades, submit class rosters and grade sheets by the deadlines established by the MAIT
∎ Meet with the Principal as needed to discuss all aspects of the course including student progress and curriculum development (may be required to provide input into program development)
∎ Undertake monitoring and assessment of student's course work, project work, and examinations, and maintain up-to-date and accurate records of their progress and achievement.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 45 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Experience teaching in freelancing or related fields
∎ Experience in conducting training for a variety of industries and businesses both at their workplaces and at industry conferences and meetings.
∎ Experience in designing presentations and incorporated media and humor to engage participants.
∎ Expertise with the different social media platforms and ads tools.
∎ Excellent communication (oral and written), organizational, and time management skills.
∎ Practical interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse constituents.
∎ Knowledge of soft skills, supply chain, finance and accounting, sales, marketing and management
∎ Knowledge of traditional and modern job training methods and techniques
Salary: Tk. 25000 (Monthly)
