Qualifications: 

  • Certified trade course/vocational course on Driving trade will be an added advantage.  

  • Mandatory to have Driving License/ Driving Instructor license from BRTA

Experience & Knowledge:

  • Competent in NTVQF Level-1(Minimum) but Highly appreciated BNQF Level-1/2 on Driving’

  • Competent in Level IV/V (Assessor/Trainer part) from NSDA/BTEB will be an added advantage

  • Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Good interpersonal and verbal communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with people at various levels 

  • Good teamwork skills with the ability to work with different and sometimes conflicting agendas 

  • Deep understanding and practical skill on the relevant trade.

  • Ability in resolving conflict and having strong verbal communication.

  • Ability to work under pressure and on own initiativeAbility to work without supervision



Responsibilities & Context:

Job Purpose: 

The instructor (Driving) is responsible for enrolling learners, designing and delivering both theoretical and practical lessons, monitoring learners’ progress, and preparing them for assessments, job placement, or self-employment opportunities in the Driving sector, thereby supporting their journey toward sustainable livelihoods. The role contributes to developing learners’ employability skills in the Driving Sector and supporting their journey toward sustainable livelihoods.

Key Accountabilities:

Academic:

  • Plan actual course of study by developing modifications for several levels of academic ability and previous achievement.

  • Develops and presents lesson plans by using a variety of techniques (lectures, projects, exhibits, field visit, audio-visuals, ICT tolls etc).

  • Assist the Principal in learner enrolment by supporting outreach and registration activities.

  • Ensure student attendance, follow up with irregular learners, and support enrolment initiatives.

  • Provide additional support for slow learners along with counselling and develop case studies when required.

  • Conduct training sessions by planning and developing course curricula in accordance with BTEB/NSDA guidelines, Competency Standards, and other relevant training and learning materials.

  • Stay informed and updated on curriculum revisions, policy changes, and official notices issued by BTEB/NSDA, and incorporate them into training delivery as required.

  • Prepare assignments, project, and evaluate learner progress, ensuring both formative and summative assessments.

  • Support to In-charge of Training Centre/Principal to communicate with BTEB/NSDA/any other Certification authority for the summative assessment and ensure assessment facilities.

  • Maintain discipline and a positive learning environment in the classroom, addressing behavioural and academic challenges in consultation with relevant professionals.

  • Assist in job placement of students graduated from the trade.

Health & Safety:

  • Ensure a safe, healthy, and compliant training environment by following occupational health and safety guidelines as per Competency Curricula.

  • Promote safety practices during hands-on training and workshops.

Record keeping:

  • Maintain accurate records of learner attendance, performance, progression, Assessment’s information and provide to management as per need.

  • Regularly update student databases and provide reports to management as required.

  • Keep parents/guardians informed about learner performance and development when necessary.

  • Maintain trade-wise inventory of tools, equipment, raw materials, and training resources, ensuring proper utilization and accountability.

Professional development & Others Duty:

  • Motivate students and provide career guidance and Counselling.

  • Updates job knowledge by attending faculty meetings; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

  • Contribute to the institute’s reputation by proactively supporting new initiatives and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

  • Uphold Child Protection Policy and apply community-based approaches. Maintain networks and liaison with relevant local government offices, institutions, workshops, and industries.

  • Perform any additional duties as assigned by management.
