Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Serve as the primary point of contact for all IT matters for the Dhaka central office, providing support to 3 smaller city offices outside of Dhaka, including staff troubleshooting, information technology training and technical assistance for project staff.
∎ Design, set up and manage project computer and information technology systems (including hardware and software), including (but not limited to): Support the rental and/or procurement of IT-related items including computers, printers, servers, etc. ensuring desktop and laptop purchases are in line with JSI/US standard specifications. Install or monitor hardware installation in offices.Plan the continuing development, implementation, and management of the office’s information systems, including the local and wide area networks, telecommunications, and other functions, for Dhaka and 3 city offices.Manage the project’s google drive and AODocs maintenance, security, access and back-up functions to ensure project information is safeguarded and staff have access to relevant information in line with access protocols.

∎ Work with the US office, Dhaka and city team senior management to develop short and long-term IT goals and objectives for the project.
∎ Establish and enforce IT policies, standards, practices as outlined in JSI’s Operations Manual.
∎ Support staff to test, install, or troubleshoot software in project offices.
∎ Support procurement for any contracts needed for IT-related scopes.
∎ Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor which are in line with the general concept of this position and contribute insight in areas of specific expertise.
∎ Periodic travel to the three city offices to support IT systems set-up in and provide ongoing support.

∎ Brief Project Description
∎ The purpose of the Urban Health Activity (UHA) is to strengthen urban health systems, with the goal of improving equitable health outcomes among all urban areas in which the project works (Dhaka plus 3 cities). To achieve its goal, the activity will work with municipalities and city corporations and focus investments on establishing and strengthening urban health systems to provide quality, equitable public health (including health services), optimize available resources, and become more resilient. This Activity will focus on the following four objectives: 1) Improve the capacity of local health authorities to conduct evidence-based analysis of local health systems and epidemiology for decision-making; 2) Institutionalize evidence-based planning; 3) Strengthen urban health systems; and 4) Strengthen urban health system resilience and responsiveness to shocks and stressors.
∎ Job Summary
∎ The IT Manager position is full-time with UHA in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The IT Manager will report to the Finance and Operations Director. The IT Manager will set up and maintain the IT systems and provide ongoing IT support for the project. JSI is a public health company, not an Information Technology company. The mission of the Information Technology Specialist is to set up and manage the project’s computer and IT systems to facilitate the project’s implementation of public health work.
