Job Context:
∎ Global Unnayan Seba Sangstha (GUSS) is implementing a project “WASH Assistance for the FDMN Refugee (RR) families in Bhasan Char Island”. The project is funded by the Global Affairs Canada with technical support from BRAC.
∎ Job Title: Hygiene Associate
∎ Responsible to: Project Coordinator
∎ Job Location: Bhashan Char Island, Noakhali
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Carry out regular field visits to project sites to monitor overall hygienic environment and cleanliness of sanitation services; take necessary measures for rectification with support from beneficiary.
∎ Plan and ensure the distribution of hygiene kits and promote effective use of all distributed hygiene items
∎ Extensively support field staffs in delivery of effective community awareness programs including adoption of best practices and proven approaches
∎ Conduct regular hygiene awareness sessions for the FDMN beneficiaries
∎ Contribute in data collection and data processing of WASH information and use such information for reference
∎ Validate the relevance of the hygiene awareness messages considering cultural sensitivity and adaptable capacity of beneficiary.
∎ Support to conduct research/surveys on effectiveness and appropriateness of interventions within the project area.
∎ Communicate with local stakeholders in order to find efficient and effective solutions to the hygiene related problems on the ground
∎ Building sustainable relationships with the community to create a sense of trust and respect
∎ Submit weekly report to the supervisor for compilation as and when required
∎ Provide mentorship to community leaders and beneficiaries, and facilitate cleaning campaign with the support from GUSS and wider community
∎ Assist the team in developing plans of action to ensure timely and successful implementation of Hygiene activities
∎ Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme's goals on safeguarding implementation.
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
∎ Perform any other responsibilities assigned by Management
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 28 to 40 years
∎ Only males are allowed to apply
∎ Bachelor or Master Degree from any discipline
∎ Minimum 3-years of experience in working with NGO/INGOs-Humanitarian organizations
∎ A professional with very good interpersonal skills, results-oriented, flexible, organized and systematic, attention to details, team player but also the ability to work independently.
∎ Good command of English and Bangla is required. Speaking of Chittagonian language is an advantage.
∎ Good computer skill is an additional qualification
∎ Willing to travel in remote areas
∎ Commitment to working with Humanitarian organization.

Salary: Tk. 24000 - 25000 (Monthly)
