Job Purpose Statement:
The General Manager, Sales & Marketing is a senior executive leader responsible for driving national revenue growth, commercial sustainability, and brand leadership for a reputed organization across all business verticals.
The role owns the end‑to‑end commercial agenda—market strategy, revenue, profitability, channels, tenders, partnerships, and demand generation—transforming a reputed organization from a program‑led organization into a scalable, market‑driven last mile customer focused enterprise, while preserving its rural development ethos.
This position plays a strategic role in executive decision‑making, aligning commercial priorities with a reputed organization’s mission in renewable energy, clean cooking, EV solutions, and agri‑business across rural and semi‑urban Bangladesh.
The role is also responsible for pursuing new opportunities leading towards the growth of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Commercial Strategy & Growth Leadership
Define and execute a reputed organization’s sales & market expansion strategy aligned with corporate objectives.
Drive diversified revenue growth across retail, dealer, institutional, NGO, corporate, and government channels.
Lead long‑term market entry and scale‑up strategies for cleantech, agro, EV batteries, and renewable energy solutions.
Translate a reputed organization’s operational strengths into commercial advantage and monetization.
P&L Ownership & Financial Accountability
Full P&L ownership for assigned business segments, including revenue, margins, cost optimization, and cash flow.
Set and monitor annual revenue, margin, and growth targets with clear accountability mechanisms.
Strengthen credit, collection, and financing models (EMI, leasing, partner financing) critical to rural markets.
Channel Dealer & Distribution Excellence
Oversee dealer (200+ dealers) and distribution strategy, ensuring productivity, coverage, and profitability.
Institutionalize dealer performance management, incentives, territory rationalization, and capability development.
Expand and professionalize direct sales and institutional sales channels.
Government, Tender & Strategic Partnerships
Provide executive leadership for B2G, donor, and development partner tenders.
Build strategic relationships with ministries, IDCOL‑linked programs, donors, NGOs, and corporates.
Ensure disciplined bid selection, pricing governance, and risk management.
Marketing, Brand & Market Adoption
Own a reputed organization’s national brand strategy, especially in rural and semi‑urban markets.
Lead integrated marketing across ATL, BTL, activation, and digital platforms.
Ensure strong product positioning, pricing architecture, and GTM discipline for all products.
Digital, CRM & Commercial Analytics
Champion digital transformation of sales & marketing, including CRM, lead management, and reporting systems.
Ensure data‑driven decision‑making through dashboards, analytics, forecasting, and market intelligence.
Improve conversion ratios, customer lifetime value, and sales productivity.
People Leadership & Organization Building
Build and lead a high‑performing national sales & marketing organization
Develop leadership pipelines, succession plans, and performance‑linked incentive frameworks.
Foster a culture of accountability, ethical conduct, customer focus, and continuous learning.
