Role Summary
The Senior Manufacturing Leader is responsible for end-to-end oversight of multiple manufacturing facilities, while leading factory expansion initiatives and greenfield/brownfield factory development. This role ensures operational excellence, scalable growth, cost efficiency, quality, safety, and timely execution of new factory projects aligned with business strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Multi-Factory Operations Leadership
Provide strategic and operational leadership across multiple manufacturing plants.
Ensure consistent performance in productivity, quality, cost, delivery, safety, and compliance.
Standardize best practices, KPIs, and operating systems across all sites.
Build strong plant leadership teams and succession pipelines.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, TPM, Industry 4.0).
Factory Expansion & Capacity Growth
Lead capacity expansion projects within existing facilities.
Evaluate demand forecasts and translate them into scalable manufacturing plans.
Oversee layout optimization, equipment selection, automation, and workforce scaling.
Manage expansion budgets, timelines, and ROI delivery.
New Factory Development (Greenfield / Brownfield)
Lead end-to-end development of new manufacturing facilities, including:
Site selection and feasibility studies
Regulatory approvals and statutory compliance
Factory layout, infrastructure, utilities, and equipment planning
Vendor selection and contract management
Commissioning, trial runs, and ramp-up to mass production
Ensure new factories meet global standards for safety, quality, and sustainability from day one.
Strategic & Financial Management
Develop long-term manufacturing and capacity strategies aligned with business growth plans.
Own and manage multi-plant operating and capital budgets.
Drive cost optimization, working capital improvement, and productivity gains.
Present regular performance and project updates to executive leadership.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
Ensure adherence to all regulatory, environmental, and safety standards.
Champion a strong culture of EHS, quality excellence, and zero-incident mindset.
Lead audits and certifications (ISO, GMP, industry-specific standards as applicable).
Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Leadership
Collaborate closely with Supply Chain, Engineering, R&D, Quality, Finance, HR, and Sales.
Act as the primary manufacturing interface with external partners, contractors, and authorities.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related field).
Master’s degree (MBA / MS Engineering) preferred.
15–20+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience.
Proven experience managing multiple factories or large, complex manufacturing operations.
Demonstrated success in factory expansion and new factory setup from concept to commercialization.
Strong expertise in Lean manufacturing, automation, and modern manufacturing systems.
Experience managing large CAPEX projects and cross-functional teams.
