Responsibilities & Context:
The selected candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:
Lead and oversee the Bank’s Investment Risk Management (IRM) function in line with Shariah principles and regulatory requirements.
Develop, implement, and review investment risk policies, frameworks, manuals, and procedures suitable for Islamic banking products (Murabaha, Musharaka, Mudaraba, Ijara, Bai-Salam, etc.).
Ensure all investment proposals comply with Shariah guidelines, Bangladesh Bank regulations, and internal risk appetite.
Assess, monitor, and control investment risk exposure across all portfolios, including corporate, SME, retail, and investment financing.
Strengthen investment appraisal, approval, monitoring, and recovery mechanisms.
Work closely with Shariah Supervisory Committee, Investment Committee, and senior management to ensure Shariah compliance in investment decisions.
Identify early warning signals (EWS), manage classified investments, and recommend remedial actions.
Ensure compliance with Basel III, IFRS/IAS (as applicable), and Bangladesh Bank circulars related to investment risk.
Provide strategic guidance to management on risk mitigation, portfolio diversification, and asset quality improvement.
Lead, mentor, and develop the IRM team to enhance efficiency and professionalism.
Prepare and present risk reports to the Board and senior management.
