Educational Requirements:
∎ Bachelor in Engineering (BEngg) in Civil Engineering
∎ Preferably with master’s degree in Geo-technical Engineering.

Experience Requirements:
∎ 10 to 12 year(s)

Job Responsibilities:
∎ i) Work with group under Project Management and independently;
∎ i) Study geological maps and aerial photographs from a range of sources and from different time periods;
∎ ii) Examine construction plans to see how feasible they are based on your understanding of the site;
∎ iii) Investigate risks or geological hazards for the site;
∎ iv) Search for environmentally sensitive features, such as landfill;
∎ v) Start to develop factual and interpretive ground models;
∎ vi) Plan field investigations, adding data collected on site to your initial research;
∎ vii) Creating geotechnical calculations, drawings, and two or three-dimensional computer models interpreting the data;
∎ viii) Making recommendations about the proposed use of the site and
∎ ix) He will contribute significantly in survey, selection of sub-projects, preparation of design, drawing & engineers estimate, BoQ, environmental and social safeguards reports, reparation of SPARs and tender documents etc.;
∎ x) Perform in a strictly time bound manner in total adherence to the qualitative and quantitative requirements of the project vis a vis consulting assignment and ought to remain cautious so as to ensure that there is no unjustified time or cost over-run.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum 10 years practical experience in evaluating subsurface and soil conditions and materials, using the principles of soil and rock mechanics including examination of environmental issues such as flood plains and water tables.

Salary:
∎ Practical Action will pay a consolidated amount for the whole contract, including VAT, Tax to Individual Consultant(s) and associated field travel including food, accommodation, per diem and consultation meetings and workshops. The consulting Firm(s)/ Individual Consultant(s) will be paid 5% of the agreed amount upon signing contract and remaining 90% over 18 instalments through period upon completion of deliverables and rest 5% upon completion of the assignment / or as stated by the donor.
