Experience:
Master’s degree in Gender Studies, Development Studies, Disability Studies, Social Sciences, Public Policy, or a related field.
Required Professional Experience:
Minimum 5 years of professional experience in gender equality, disability inclusion, or social inclusion programming.
Experience working in humanitarian or development contexts, preferably with international NGOs.
Demonstrated experience in policy analysis, research, and advocacy.
Experience designing and delivering training and capacity development initiatives.
Experience engaging with government agencies, NGOs, and development partners.
Required Skills:

Job Purpose:
The GEDSI Specialist provides technical leadership to ensure the effective integration of Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) across all phases of program design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation within World Vision Bangladesh’s Rohingya Crisis Response. The role strengthens inclusive humanitarian programming by conducting GEDSI assessments, supporting proposal development, building staff capacity, and ensuring compliance with organizational strategies and donor requirements. The position promotes meaningful participation of marginalized groups, particularly women, girls, and persons with disabilities, and contributes to evidence-based advocacy and policy dialogue to advance inclusive development and humanitarian practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Technical Leadership on GEDSI Integration:
Provide technical leadership to integrate Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) principles across all stages of project planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. Facilitate GEDSI integration in project design processes ensuring alignment with WV Bangladesh strategies, national policies, and donor requirements. Develop and support the implementation of GEDSI technical guidelines, SOPs, and tools for program teams. Provide technical advice to sector teams to ensure inclusive program delivery. Monitor the application of GEDSI principles within program activities and provide recommendations for improvement. Support teams to conduct gender and disability vulnerability analysis in target communities. Ensure programs address barriers faced by women, girls, and persons with disabilities.
Resource Mobilization and Proposal Development:
Support program teams in developing concept notes and proposals with strong GEDSI integration. Conduct research and assessments to inform proposal development and program design. Provide technical input to ensure gender and disability inclusion within project logframes, indicators, and implementation plans. Contribute to documentation of institutional learning and field-level experiences to support fundraising initiatives. Provide guidance on integrating GEDSI indicators into monitoring frameworks.
Capacity Building and Technical Support:
Develop and deliver training sessions on GEDSI for project staff and partners. Design training curricula, tools, and IEC materials related to gender equality and disability inclusion. Provide mentoring and technical support to project teams to strengthen GEDSI implementation. Organize workshops, orientations, and learning sessions to promote inclusive programming practices. Facilitate learning exchanges and exposure visits for staff and partners. Ensure monitoring of training outcomes and capacity-building effectiveness.
Knowledge Management and Learning:
Conduct research and contribute to studies related to gender equality and disability inclusion. Identify best practices and success stories from field programs for documentation and dissemination. Develop reports, case studies, and technical documents to capture program learning. Maintain databases and knowledge resources related to GEDSI programming. Support development of program documentation, learning briefs, and knowledge products. Facilitate dissemination of research findings and lessons learned across teams.
Advocacy, Networking, and Partnerships:
Build and maintain partnerships with government ministries, NGOs, and development partners working on gender and disability inclusion. Represent World Vision in coordination forums, sector working groups, and technical committees. Develop advocacy materials such as policy briefs, fact sheets, and reports. Promote collaboration with Disabled Persons Organizations (DPOs) and civil society organizations. Engage with media and networks to raise awareness on gender equality and disability inclusion. Support initiatives promoting SDG commitments related to inclusion and rights of vulnerable groups.
Policy Analysis and Influencing:
Analyze national laws, policies, and regulatory frameworks related to gender equality and disability rights. Produce policy briefs, analysis papers, and advocacy documents based on evidence and research. Monitor policy developments and emerging issues related to inclusion and social protection. Provide technical advice to program leadership on policy implications for programming. Contribute to policy dialogue with government agencies and sector stakeholders.
