Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Liaise with buying, design, merchandising, supply chain teams and technical lab.
∎ Finding, choosing most suitable materials (Yarn, Fabrics, trims & accessories) depending on the need of the end application
∎ Evaluate quality of materials, ensure material & product testing fits the purpose, analyze test reports and make changes where required.
∎ Prior experience working with well-known apparel brands such as Marks & Spencer, GAP, Tommy Hilfiger.
∎ Closely work with designer, programmer & technical leader to make sure the design suits garment construction methods, manufacturing feasibility whilst ensuring the product performs to required specifications.
∎ Conduct fit sessions, wearer trials to ensure product is competitive and ahead of new market trends.
∎ Prepare graded spec charts and follow correct grading rules whilst managing size standards for all product categories establishing and maintaining fit and size standards across all brands.
∎ Conducting meetings (tech pack review, risk assessment, 1st trials review etc)
∎ Understanding technical characteristics of yarn and fabrics, changing fabrication, seam constructions, application of trims and every little detail in the product to make sure it fits for purpose.
∎ Risk assesses products in terms of safety and manufacturing feasibility.
∎ Ensure proper 5S, housekeeping and adherence with all compliance requirements.
