Educational Requirements:
∎ Must have a university degree in Finance or Accounting or management.
Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 10 year(s)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Effective running of World Vision Financial Reporting Systems and processes.
∎ Cash & Treasury Management.
∎ Payroll Management including statutory deductions remittance compliance.
∎ Successful Office cost Management and control.
∎ Records Management.
∎ Facilitate annual budgets and Cash flows reviews and provide relevant feedbacks to Line managers on time.
∎ Develop and institute core budget monitoring tools which will support projects provide technical support in the development of project proposals with a view of advising on key strategic financial implications as per FFR and Donors requirements.
∎ Ensure that consolidated cash flows and monthly cash funding requests are prepared and submitted to the NO as per BRCR's needs and on timely manner.
∎ Ensure timely preparation and submission of all monthly, quarterly, bi- annual and annual projects financial reports, General office accounting and Financial Risk Management.
∎ Finance staff supervision, mentoring & capacity building.
∎ To maintain oversight on financial planning and decision making, to produce quality management reports; and play an active role in internal and external audits.
∎ Ensure that accurate financial reports are done in a timely manner and presented to relevant parties per World Vision calendar.
∎ Review all project related financial transactions to ensure that they are within the approved scope of project activities and donor requirements and that they are in compliance with the financial procedures and FFR requirements.
∎ Participate in the year-end closing processes including timely submission of yearend reports, appendices and carry-forward guideline requirements.
∎ Ensure that National Office Finance office provides timely cash/cheque disbursement services to all internal and external projects including management of all bank accounts.
∎ Prepare monthly management reports-MMR to the Finance and close monitoring of the core budget and shared costs recovery for complete financial management reporting.
∎ Ensure that all LDRs for all staff are properly prepared and filed at the National Office level.
∎ Ensure tax, vat and related compliances
Additional Requirements:
∎ Must have a proven knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and a practical knowledge of financial systems and internal controls.
∎ Require proven knowledge and experience in accounting packages especially sunsystem & Q&A reporting software, spreadsheet applications and an understanding of data processing concepts and systems.
∎ Must have a minimum of 10 years 'experience in financial accounting, preferably in a managerial position within an International NGO.
∎ Proficiency in Computer applications (Excel, Sun systems, Word etc.)
∎ Good Analytical skills.
∎ People management skills.
∎ Fragile context experience is an added advantage.
∎ Demonstrated cross-cultural sensitivity, flexible worldview, emotional maturity and physical stamina. Ability to exhibit exemplary lifestyle as interpreted in specific local cultural context.
∎ Ability to live and work in difficult remote areas and travel extensively.
∎ Ability to maintain performance despite intense workload and work pace.
∎ Knowledge of and adherence to the Red Cross and NGO Code of Conduct.
