Job Context:
∎ Eco-Social Development Organization (ESDO) started its journey in 1988 with a noble vision to stand in solidarity with the poor and marginalized. Being a peoples` centered organization, ESDO envisioned for a society which will be free from inequality and injustice, a society where no child will cry from hunger and no life will be ruined by poverty. Near about three decades of relentless efforts to make this happen, ESDO has embraced new grounds and opened up new horizons to help the disadvantaged and vulnerable people to bring meaningful and lasting changes in their lives. During this long span, ESDO has adapted with the changing situation and provided the most time-bound services especially for the poor and disadvantaged. A community focused and people centered approach has been adapted by ESDO while consideration was given to the national policy and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as its guiding principle. ESDO is one of the most dynamic organizations expanding its development interventions across 273 upazilas under 49 districts of Bangladesh covering over 8.46 million poor and vulnerable people.
∎ ESDO in partnership with EDUCO is going to implement the `Options for Dignity of Human being by Influencing Key Actors to Reform (ODHIKAR) project in Mohammadpur, Dhaka.
∎ Project period: 11 months
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Implement the SGB child protection policy and procedures.
∎ Encourage good practice by promoting and campaigning the child protection policy and procedures.
∎ Monitor and review the child protection policy and procedures.
∎ Conduct awareness raising with working children , their parents.
∎ Organize awareness campaign with community on child rights.
∎ Establish linkage with employers Association to provide decent work.
∎ Regularly report to the Management/Committee/Board.
∎ Raise awareness of the Club Child Protection Officer role to parents/carers, adults, and children involved in the club.
∎ Raise awareness of the Code of Conduct for working with children to parents/carers, adults and children involved in the club.
∎ Challenge behavior which breaches the Code of Conduct.
∎ Keep abreast of developments in the field of child protection by liaising with the SGB Child Protection Officer, attending relevant training or events and subscribing to the Safeguarding in Sport newsletter.
∎ Organize/signpost appropriate training for all adults working/volunteering with children in the club.
∎ Establish and maintain contact with local statutory agencies including the police and social services.
∎ Respond appropriately to disclosures or concerns which relate to the well-being of a child.
∎ Maintain confidential records of reported cases and action taken.
∎ Where required liaise with the SGB Child Protection Officer and/or statutory agencies and ensure they have access to all necessary information.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 25 to 45 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ At least 3 years of relevant working experiences in NGO/INGOs in development projects.
∎ Experience of community mobilization, community situation analysis on Child labour monitoring issue;
∎ Capacity building of stakeholders including project staffs and community;
∎ Maintain liaison with LG's and other stakeholders to maximize the resources;
∎ Reporting and documentation of the respective clusters.
∎ Computer competence added extra value
∎ Willing to drive Motorcycle and should have valid driving license.
Salary:
∎ Monthly gross salary BDT 25,000/-
