Experience:

Installation & Termination:

• Install fiber optic cables, patch panels, ODF (Optical Distribution Frames), and splice enclosures in substations.
• Perform fusion splicing and mechanical splicing of fiber optic cables.
• Terminate fiber cables using ST, SC, LC, and MTP/MPO connectors.

Testing & Commissioning:

• Conduct OTDR (Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer) testing to verify cable integrity and troubleshoot faults.
• Perform optical power loss, insertion loss, and light source meter testing to ensure optimal performance.
• Identify and rectify issues such as fiber breaks, excessive attenuation, and signal loss.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting:

• Diagnose and repair fiber optic faults and link failures in substation communication networks.
• Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on fiber optic infrastructure.
• Ensure compliance with SEC, IEC 61850, and IEEE fiber optic communication standards.

Documentation & Compliance:

• Maintain records of fiber cable layouts, splice diagrams, and test results.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols, fiber optic handling best practices, and project specifications.
• Submit as-built drawings and test reports to the commissioning team.
