Experience:
Bachelor’s or Master degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, Interior Design, or a related field.
In-depth knowledge of weave structures, fiber content, dye techniques, finishing processes, and fabric performance characteristics.
Proven track record of sourcing materials and managing vendor/mill relationships.
Strong eye for color, texture combinations, drapery, and spatial design.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) and Microsoft Office; experience with PLM software is a plus.
About The Role:
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Fashion Designer with a strong passion for textiles, textures, and trend forecasting to join our design team. In this role, you will bridge the gap between high fashion and interior design by leading fabric selection, material sourcing, and aesthetic development for our furniture collections. You will translate global runway trends, color palettes, and tactile innovations into high-performance upholstery and furniture soft goods.
Key Responsibilities:
Fabric & Material Selection: Curatorially select fabrics, leathers, trims, and textiles that align with seasonal concepts, furniture frames, and brand aesthetics.
Global Sourcing & Supplier Relations: Identify, contact, and negotiate with mills, textile manufacturers, and fabric vendors to source high-quality, durable, and cost-effective upholstery materials.
Trend Forecasting: Research and analyze emerging fashion trends, color stories, pattern developments, and textile innovations to apply to upcoming furniture lines.
Textile Testing & Quality Control: Collaborate with product development teams to ensure sourced fabrics meet furniture industry standards (e.g., rub counts, stain resistance, flame retardancy, and lightfastness).
Concept & Mood Board Creation: Develop visual mood boards, fabric swatches, and material palettes for internal presentations and cross-functional teams.
Prototyping & Sampling: Work closely with furniture upholsterers, prototypers, and product engineers during sample production to ensure proper drape, pattern matching, and tailored finish.
Sustainability Initiatives: Source eco-friendly, recycled, and sustainably produced textiles to support environmental product goals.
