Bachelor's Degree in International Business, Marketing, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Proven track record of 2+ years in a managerial role in export operations, preferably in the Jute Bag, rugs, handicraft Woven Bag export industry.
Technical Skills:
In-depth knowledge of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and export documentation.
Proficiency in negotiating international contract terms and managing export logistics/supply chain.
Familiarity with compliance requirements related to child labor, safety standards, and chemical/dye restrictions (especially for European and US markets).
Proficiency in MS Office Suite and ERP/Export Management software.
Responsibilities & Context
1. Export Market Development
Identify potential export markets and new clients through market research and trade data analysis.
Develop and implement export sales strategies to achieve business targets.
Build and maintain relationships with international distributors, agents, and retailers.
Participate in international trade fairs, exhibitions, and business networking events.
Develop and implement effective export sales strategies to achieve and exceed sales targets in target markets (e.g., USA, Europe, Middle East, Africa, Australia).
2. Sales Management
Achieve assigned export sales targets and monitor regional performance.
Prepare sales forecasts and business development plans for each export market.
Handle export inquiries, quotations, and negotiate terms & pricing with clients.
Ensure timely collection of payments and compliance with credit terms.
Identify, acquire, and maintain strong, long-term relationships with international buyers, wholesalers, and retail chains.
3. Order Coordination
Coordinate with production, supply chain, and logistics teams for order processing, packaging, and shipment planning.
Monitor production schedules to ensure export orders meet delivery timelines.
Ensure proper documentation (Proforma Invoice, Commercial Invoice, Packing List, COO, BL, etc.) according to buyer and customs requirements.
4. Compliance & Documentation
Ensure compliance with export regulations, customs requirements, and international trade laws.
Liaise with banks, freight forwarders, and clearing agents for LC, shipping, and export documentation.
Maintain records of all export transactions and update export MIS reports regularly.
5. Market Analysis & Reporting
Conduct regular competitor and market analysis to identify growth opportunities.
Prepare periodic reports on export performance, customer feedback, and market trends.
Recommend product modifications or new product opportunities based on international market demand.
