Job Context:
∎ Contract period: 31 July 2020 (with the possibility of extension for 6 months based on performance)
∎ Line Manager: Vocational and Business Skills Team Leader
∎ Staff Manager: Community Mobilizer
∎ Lines With: Site Improvement Team Leader and Vocational and Life Skills Officer
∎ Based in Cox`s Bazar with frequent field visits (primarily host communities)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Implementation:
∎
∎ Design training modules on Entrepreneurship and Business Management for female HC beneficiaries, including training methodology.
∎ Assist Vocational and Business Skills Team Leader in beneficiary selection.
∎ Select training venues and develop a training plan.
∎ Deliver training, collect feedback from trainees and coordinate with Vocational and Business Skills Team Leader on quality improvement.
∎ Support trainees in selecting ideas for feasible micro-enterprises.
∎ Support design of selection criteria for awarding women with grants.
∎ Distribute conditional cash in collaboration with other team members to support entrepreneurship.
∎ In coordination with the supervisor, coordinate and deliver coaching and mentoring support to entrepreneurs.
∎ Together with the Vocational and Business Skills Team Leader, map and develop linkages with potential buyers and service providers.
∎ Support entrepreneurs in forming trader associations.
∎ Support Community Mobilizer in mobilization of beneficiaries.
∎ In cooperation with the Community Mobilizer, organize awareness raising sessions with senior household members to support women's entrepreneurship.
∎ Financial management
∎
∎ Request adequate advance to cover project costs with prior approval from Programme Manager and in consultation with Vocational and Business Skills Team Leader.
∎ Distribute conditional cash among the entrepreneurs selected to receive business support.
∎ Support Team Leader in appropriate financial management and transparent use of project resources based on Procurement and Work Plans.
∎ Monitoring & Reporting
∎
∎ Cooperate on implementing project level M&E plan.
∎ Submit weekly update to Team Leader (Vocational and Business Skills).
∎ Contribute to project reporting requirements.
∎ Regular monitoring of entrepreneurial businesses and submit monthly progress report to the supervisor.
∎ Staff Supervision and Management
∎
∎ Provide day to day supervision of Community Mobilizer.
∎ Ensure appropriate performance management.
∎ Coordination
∎
∎ Establish DCA's relationship with local authorities (local government counterparts, UNO, UP Chairman and other line departments) as per agreement with Team Leader (Vocational and Business Skills) and Programme Manager.
∎ Support field visits as per request.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Only females are allowed to apply
∎ Minimum three years of professional experience in Emergency and/or Sustainable Livelihoods, Market Development Systems, Economic Recovery and similar programmes in NGO sector.
∎ Proven knowledge and track record in providing support to women's entrepreneurship activities.
∎ Strong practical project management skills.
∎ Strong understanding of project cycle management.
∎ Good report writing skills in English.
∎ Sound understanding of the local context, including host and Rohingya communities.
∎ Experience in undertaking livelihoods and self-reliance related assessments.
∎ Advanced skills to deliver trainings on entrepreneurship and business management adapted for vulnerable women with limited education and skills.
∎ Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision.
∎ Experience in community engagement and accountability.
∎ Strong verbal and written communication skills in Bengali and English.
∎ Solid computer skills, including internet navigation and office applications (MS Office); experience in using Excel spreadsheets.
∎ Due to cultural restrictions and as this post requires interaction with community women, the position is open to female candidates only.
∎ Pro-active with an ability to think analytically, identifying opportunities and mechanisms to broaden programming
∎ Self-starter and take initiative
