Job Responsibilities:
∎ Technical Support and Skills Development of PNGO, Different Stakeholders and Target Groups - 35%
∎
∎ Facilitate technical sessions of the induction workshop, meeting, training and other workshop organized under the project
∎ Provide technical support to the PNGO staff to strengthen their capacity
∎ Provide technical support to the metal workshops, small jute weaving factories to Identify Jute based demand led light-engineering skills/equipment for income generation, work diversification and increase income
∎ Work with the partners to create job opportunities through light-engineering, machinery related entrepreneurship development and metal workshop relevant manufacturing skills
∎ Ensure support to the PNGOs in organizing skill based training for higher employment opportunity and metal workshop establishment
∎ Provide expert support in the training course organized by PNGOs and vocational institutes (TTCs)
∎ Ensure on job coaching for the PNGO staff as per need in the field
∎ Planning, Coordinating, Programme implementation, Field Visit, Problem Identification and Technical support - 40%
∎
∎ Actively participate and assist project team in planning of project activities.
∎ Develop a checklist for Pre-checking the Jute Fiber Extraction Machines before final delivery of Jute Fiber Extraction Machine
∎ Ensure pre-testing of all machines before final delivery from supplier as per developed checklist
∎ Prepare Road map for smooth, safe and timely distribution of machines
∎ Assist to PNGO staff in machine distribution as lease.
∎ Ensure trouble shooting of identified problems of all the machines and ensure technical support in field regarding this.
∎ Technical support to the entrepreneurs for trouble shooting, fine tuning of machines, extract fibers in appropriate manner etc. during jute harvesting season in field.
∎ Prepare the selection criteria and involve in selection process of Metal Workshop owners, Metal Artisan, Labour and Machine entrepreneurs along with Implementing Partner Organization
∎ Assist in planning, coordination, reviewing and synthesizing project documents
∎ Assist in organizing events like trainings, workshops, conferences, seminar, Roadshow, Guardian Meetings and communicate with stakeholders.
∎ Make regular field visits and identify problems and ensure technical support
∎ Assist in efficiency testing of Jute Fiber Extraction Machine, Threshing machineries and Irrigation machinery attached with Jute Fiber Extraction Machine for diversified uses
∎ Provide technical support to PNGO for implementing the light engineering business support activities
∎ Actively involved in the selected workshops for manufacturing and procurement of Machine, accessories/parts, tools etc. by preparing specification and quality assurance
∎ Meet with the members of Rangpur Lathe Machine Sromik Union for developing the MoU to support them as per project need
∎ Liaison and communicate with different stakeholders for the shake of smooth implementation of project activities
∎ Provide required supports in accommodating the organizational priority, project priority and emergency response as and when necessary as directed by project management team
∎ Monitoring, Follow-up and Reporting- 7%
∎
∎ Monitor the progress of implemented activities under light engineering sector
∎ Assist M&E team in data validation of baseline survey data.
∎ Assist M&E team in providing practical information to measure impacts and changes/graduation
∎ Assist in prepare monthly, quarterly and annual progress report based on the plan
∎ Training, Communication and Assist in Preparation of Knowledge Product-15%
∎
∎ Communicate and negotiate with Technical Training Centers (TTCs) about apprentice support training for Metal workshop artisan and drafting of MoU
∎ Assist to prepare knowledge products (poster, brochures, video documentation etc.) on Light Engineering sectors
∎ Prepare training modules on jute extraction machine operations & entrepreneurship development as well as jute stick management.
∎ Prepare Training module for Training and Capacity building on new machinery like Jute Fiber Extraction Machine, Power Thresher (Rice/Wheat), Maize Sheller and harvesting machinery to metal workshops owners and Apprentice Training for metal workshop artisan
∎ Assist in organizing different agro machinery demonstrations,
∎ Sharing field level knowledge and experiences with the team on regular basis to reinforce field implementation and team building
∎ Assist and coordinate visual documentation, knowledge sharing etc
∎ Delivering Performance as One Practical Action - 3%
∎
∎ Proactively direct processes and programme initiatives to ensure quality standards during implementation of field activities and different types of events
∎ Support Quality Assurance Policies, programs and initiatives for Practical Action, providing inputs on information systems for quality assurance, as well as best practices documentation and reporting
∎ Assist to input in M&E systems design and extend support for the project activity management of Strategic Information
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 10 years of experience in reputed organizations preferably having experience in INGOs, Department of Agricultural Extension and Agricultural Research Institutes in the area of agricultural mechanization, machinery modification for diversified uses, machinery demonstration, machine operation techniques, machine development and dissemination.
∎ Proven experience managing a team with superlative team motivation skills
∎ Have experience in Agro machinery manufacturing, modification, alternative use etc. to make benefited the farmers. Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and to set priorities
∎ Excellent writing, analytical and communication skills
∎ Excellent oral presentation skills and in-depth knowledge and experience on Farm Power Machinery
∎ Familiar with the Light Engineering Sector in Bangladesh
∎ Excellent ability to work collaboratively across teams and to contribute strategically
∎ Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks and set priorities
∎ Excellent skill in networking and advocacy with stakeholders and able to demonstrate openness in sharing information and keeping people informed.
∎ Well conversant in Bangla and English
∎ Report writing skill both in Bangla and English is essential
Salary: Tk. 75000 - 85000 (Monthly)
