Responsibilities & Context:
Responsibilities:
Electrical Maintenance & Repair
Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures.
Diagnose and resolve electrical faults, short circuits, and malfunctions.
Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and regulations.
Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance of electrical panels, switches, and distribution boards.
Replace defective components such as circuit breakers, fuses, light fixtures, and switches.
Generator Operation & Maintenance
Operate standby/backup generators during power outages.
Perform daily checks: fuel level, oil level, battery charge, and coolant.
Carry out preventive maintenance as per schedule (oil change, filter replacement, lubrication, etc.).
Troubleshoot and repair minor generator faults.
Monitor generator running hours and maintain service records.
Ensure availability of sufficient fuel stock for emergency use.
Safety & Compliance
Follow safety procedures while handling electrical equipment.
Ensure proper grounding and insulation of electrical systems.
Maintain lockout/tagout (LOTO) practices during repairs.
Report and rectify potential electrical hazards.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain logbooks of electrical inspections and generator operations.
Record breakdowns, repairs, and parts replacement.
Assist in preparing requisitions for spare parts, tools, and consumables.
Support Services
Assist in setting up electrical connections for new installations and equipment.
Support in electrical load management and energy-saving initiatives.
Provide emergency support during breakdowns, after working hours if required.
Coordinate with supervisors and technical teams for smooth operations.
