Job Summary/ Context:

The Electrical Engineer is responsible for ensuring the uninterrupted operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of all electrical, electronic, automation, and electromechanical systems of the Vegetable Processing Plant. The position will oversee preventive and corrective maintenance of processing machinery, electrical installations, substation, power distribution system, generators, motors, control panels, lighting systems, and plant utilities to ensure maximum equipment uptime, operational safety, energy efficiency, and compliance with occupational health and safety standards.

A. Electrical System Operation & Maintenance

• Operate, inspect, and maintain all electrical systems of the processing plant.

• Ensure uninterrupted electrical supply to all production units.

• Maintain electrical distribution boards, switchgear, MCC panels, breakers, isolators, and wiring systems.

• Monitor electrical load distribution and optimize power utilization.

• Ensure proper grounding and earthing systems throughout the facility.

• Conduct routine inspection of electrical installations and identify potential hazards.

• Maintain all electrical drawings, layouts, and single-line diagrams.

 B. Machinery & Equipment Maintenance

• Ensure proper functioning of all vegetable processing machinery and equipment.

• Maintain electrical components of: grading line machineries, washing line machineries, packing & wrapping line machineries, cutting & slicing machineries, drying machineries, cold storage equipment, refrigeration system, water pump & motors, compressors, air blowers and others electrical device.

• Troubleshoot electrical and electronic faults and restore equipment promptly.

• Replace defective electrical and electronic components when necessary.

• Coordinate machinery installation, commissioning, testing, and calibration.

 C. Electronic & Automation Systems

• Maintain PLC-controlled systems and machine automation.

• Troubleshoot electrical sensors.

• Maintain electronic control circuits and control panels.

• Support equipment upgrades and automation improvements.

• Ensure proper functioning of instrumentation and monitoring devices.

 D. Preventive & Corrective Maintenance

• Develop preventive maintenance schedules for all electrical equipment.

• Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual maintenance plans.

• Conduct preventive maintenance according to SOPs.

• Perform emergency breakdown maintenance.

• Minimize equipment downtime and production interruptions.

• Maintain maintenance logs and repair history.

 E. Substation & Power System Management

• Operate and maintain the plant substation and solar panel system.

• Monitor transformers, HT/LT panels, circuit breakers, protection relays, and associated equipment.

• Coordinate with the electricity distribution authority during maintenance or outages.

• Ensure proper operation of backup generators and automatic changeover systems.

• Monitor power quality and voltage fluctuations.

• Conduct regular inspections of transformer oil level, temperature, and protection systems.

 F. Electrical Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with Bangladesh Electrical Code and applicable safety regulations.

• Maintain Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures.

• Conduct electrical safety inspections.

• Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

• Investigate electrical accidents and recommend corrective actions.

• Ensure fire prevention measures for electrical installations.

• Support compliance with Global G.A.P., GMP, HACCP, Food Safety, and Occupational Health & Safety requirements.

 G. Utilities Management

• Maintain electrical systems for: Water supply systems, Deep tube wells, Pumps, Air compressors, Lighting systems, Emergency lighting, Cold rooms, Refrigeration units, and Office electrical systems

• Ensure uninterrupted utility services throughout the facility.

 H. Inventory & Spare Parts Management

• Maintain inventory of electrical spare parts.

• Prepare requisitions for electrical materials and components.

• Ensure availability of critical spare parts.

• Verify specifications before procurement.

• Maintain records of electrical assets and spare parts.

 I. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain maintenance registers and equipment history cards.

• Prepare daily maintenance reports.

• Submit weekly and monthly maintenance reports.

• Maintain calibration and servicing records.

• Document electrical faults and corrective actions.

• Maintain preventive maintenance schedules and compliance records.

 J. Team Coordination & Capacity Building

• Guide maintenance technicians during repairs.

• Train operators on proper equipment handling.

• Provide technical support during production.

• Coordinate with production, quality assurance, procurement, and administration departments.

• Assist management in planning plant expansion and equipment upgrades.
