Educational Requirements:
∎ University degree in disaster risk reduction, disaster management, environmental science, or other social science, natural science or engineering discipline with direct relevance to disaster risk reduction;
∎ Master's degree will be an asset.

Job Context:
∎ United Nations Development Programme in Bangladesh announces a vacancy announcement for the position of DRR Coordination Officer (SB-3 level), DRR project, UNDP Cox`s Bazar Sub-Office under Service Contract modality.
∎ The duration of the Service Contract is till 31 May 2020 initially, subject to renewal on an annual basis upon satisfactory performance and availability of funds.
∎ Vacancy Type: Service Contract (SC)
∎ Contract Duration: 31 May 2020
∎ Only Bangladeshi nationals are eligible to apply

Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum 5 years of work experience related to disaster risk reduction, disaster management, emergency/disaster response, climate change adaptation and/or resilience;
∎ Minimum 1 year experience from coordinator, project management, M&E, knowledge management, and/or organizational development role;
∎ Substantive previous experience in coordinating with UN, NGO, and local government partners a strong asset;
∎ Strong interpersonal skills, flexible attitude and ability to communicate and work well with diverse people a must;
∎ Previous experience of working with UN agencies or international organizations operating in humanitarianism or development would be a strong advantage.
