Additional Requirements: Responsibilities & Context: As a Director, TAX – ACR (Accounting, Compliance and Reporting) you will be focused on assisting large multinational companies and family-owned businesses and startups to meet their financial reporting requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tax Accounting and Reporting: Oversee the preparation and accuracy of tax provisions, including deferred tax assets and liabilities, and ensure alignment with accounting standards. Manage the tax reporting process for financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and IFRS. Develop and implement tax accounting policies and procedures to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Tax Compliance: Supervise the preparation and filing of federal, state, and international tax returns, ensuring timely and accurate submissions. Monitor and interpret changes in tax legislation, advising on their impact on the company’s operations and compliance.
- Business Development Support: Provide tax insights and strategic guidance to support business development initiatives, including mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships. Analyze and assess the tax implications of potential business deals and transactions, providing recommendations to optimize tax outcomes.
- Strategic Tax Planning: Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize liabilities and enhance the company’s financial performance. Collaborate with senior management to align tax strategies with overall business goals and strategies.
- Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and develop the tax team, ensuring effective management and professional growth. Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
- Audit and Documentation: Coordinate with external auditors and tax authorities to manage audits and reviews. Maintain comprehensive documentation of tax positions and support materials for audit purposes.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate tax risks through proactive management and robust internal controls. Develop and execute strategies to address potential tax issues and compliance challenges.
- Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's/ Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- FCA is strongly preferred.
- A minimum of 12-15 years of post-CA Qualification experience in tax, with a proven track record of leading and managing tax functions, is required.
- Knowledge of IFRS accounting and related aspects.
- Experience in one of the Big Four accounting firms is a plus.
- Plex client engagements managing multiple stakeholders and delivering ‘Exceptional Client experience’.
- Required Skills:
- Managing a portfolio of clients, prioritizing and managing multiple deadlines.
- Stakeholder management - multifaceted with an ability to manage multiple clients for accounting, Standalone Financial statements, Tax audits, etc.
- Problem-solving and conflict management skills,
- Ability to manage and lead a team for timely accounting and related compliances.
- Ability to handle, manage, and understand nuances of voluminous data
- Good PowerPoint skills for preparing client presentations for proposals/sales pitch
- Ability to generate leads and identify ‘sell’ opportunities
- Preferably having worked in the big 4 at the Manager level or equivalent and being aware of operational requirements, especially about Scope Management, Quality, and Risk aspects
- Possess the ability to work in Cross-functional environment – across teams locally and with global
