  • Enrollment with the Bangladesh Bar Council is a must.

Responsibilities & Context:

Job Summary

The DGM/GM – Legal will head and oversee all legal affairs of the Group, ensuring full compliance with applicable laws and regulations, safeguarding the organization’s legal interests, and providing strategic legal support to management and business units - particularly in real estate, land, construction, and corporate matters.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Legal Department of the Group.

  • Provide legal opinions, guidance, and risk assessment to the Board, Management, and business units.

  • Draft, review, vet, and negotiate legal documents, including agreements, contracts, MOUs, DOA, POA, leases, and deeds.

  • Handle and supervise litigation, court matters, arbitration, and legal notices through the internal team and external counsel.

  • Oversee land-related legal issues, due diligence, title verification, registration, and mutation.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations governing property, real estate, land, rent, corporate matters, labor, and other areas.

  • Liaise with courts, government authorities, regulators, and external lawyers.

  • Maintain proper legal documentation, records, and reporting to management.

  • Proactively identify legal risks and recommend preventive and corrective measures.

  • Handle internal control systems (legal & estate audit) to ensure that the set quality standards are maintained and duly observed in the preparation, closure, and administration of agreements.

  • Appear before the Court in respect of any issue in favor of the company.
