Agro based firms (incl. Agro Processing/Seed/GM)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Able to make plan, execution and supervision of Paddy, vegetable seed & Potato production.
∎ Candidate must have sound knowledge about modern technology of Paddy, vegetable seed & Potato production.
∎ To supervise breeding period during crossing, bagging & pollination.
∎ To select Block on the basis of fertile, plain and well irrigated & drainage system.
∎ Must have able to prediction of vegetable seed & Potato production to meet the market demand on timely.
∎ Achieving production target as per quality & quantity of potato & vegetable seed.
∎ Knowledge about payment of contract growers against seed production and accordingly preparing the report on timely & return to head office as desired by the Management.
∎ Work closely with the Seed marketing and sales team on budgeting and new product introduction planning.
∎ To perform any other assignment as assigned by the concern authority in time to time.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Only males are allowed to apply
∎ Age at most 40 years
∎ Experience in seed Production and collaborating closely with processing, QC, Seed Certification Agency, BADC and BRRI.
∎ Must have knowledge in Seed production (Potato Seed, Paddy Seed, Vegetable Seed) techniques, Synchronization method/technique, fertilizer management, pest control method, sowing, transplanting, harvesting, parent line development procedure, breeding techniques, experimental trial conduct, etc.
∎ Must have knowledge in Post-harvest operations, seed drying techniques, seed cleaning, seed storage method etc.
∎ Must have technical know-how on Seed quality (Seed purity, seed vigour, germination, seed and seedlings quality, seed production & quality control), Seed multiplication, seed legislation, seed certification, seed health improvement, seed processing and preservation, seed business development, field inspection, seed standard, field standard, different field techniques related to seed quality e.g. roguing,
∎ Must have technical know-how on Pollination technique, hybrid variety development technique, seed production technique of cross pollinated varieties, detasseling technique etc.
∎ Should have knowledge on Hybrid seed production, Isolation, roguing, fertilizer management, pest control management, water management etc.
∎ Have to know the difference between Potato & seed potato, seed potato production and multiplication, potato seed production technology.
