Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Economics, Development Studies, Business Management, Data Science or related field. A Master’s degree is an advantage.

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in sustainability, ESG reporting, MEAL, social performance, CSR, environmental management, impact assessment, inclusive finance, or related fields.
  • Experience in financial services institutions or consultancy, particularly in implementing qualitative and quantitative research, is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into practical recommendations.
  • Well-organized and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines under pressure.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in reporting.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. 
  • Relationship-building and collaborative mindset, able to work effectively across cultures and with diverse stakeholders.
  • High proficiency in Excel and data-driven tools; openness to adopting new technologies.
  • Sensitivity to cultural and socio-economic diversity.

Responsibilities & Context:

ASA International is seeking a Deputy Manager Sustainability for its head office in Dhaka, Bangladesh. This group-level role supports sustainability and ESG work across all entities by collecting and analyzing data, preparing reports, coordinating with Sustainability Managers, and strengthening the Group’s social, environmental, and governance practices.

Data and performance management

  • Collect, compile, and analyze social performance indicators, including client satisfaction, staff satisfaction, complaints data, Client Economic Yield (CEY), CSR, and Outcome Measurement survey results.

  • Consolidate findings at the Group level and develop actionable insights and recommendations for improving service quality, client experience, and long-term social impact.

  • Ensure E&S surveys are conducted at subsidiary level and results integrated into group reporting.

ESG and sustainability reporting

  • Support Streamlined Energy Carbon Reporting (SECR).

  • Assist with ESG disclosures for the Annual Report, including TCFD, CSRD, IFRS S1 & S2, and SDG alignment.

  • Engage with social rating agencies and explore alignment with social rating mechanisms.

Technical guidance and coordination

  • Provide guidance and support to Sustainability Managers in 13 entities on climate and Social Performance Management.

  • Organize and facilitate bi-monthly Sustainability Managers’ meetings.

  • Assist in developing and updating Group-level E&S policies.

  • Climate risk and MEAL frameworks

  • Support identification and evaluation of climate risks and subsidiary climate targets.

  • Apply Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) frameworks to assess effectiveness of initiatives and recommend improvements.

Stakeholder engagement and strategy

  • Respond to sustainability-related requests from lenders and third parties.

  • Contribute to the development of the Group’s sustainability strategy.

  • Support awareness-building and capacity development initiatives in collaboration with the Learning & Development team.
