∎ Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in disability inclusion, including direct work with persons with disabilities and managing capacity-building initiatives
∎ In-depth understanding of disability and disability inclusive development in light of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
∎ Clear understanding of gender, justice and diversity.
∎ Negotiation, facilitation and interpersonal skills to manage coordination with PEDs of BRAC.
∎ Proficiency in MS Office, virtual communication and knowledge management.
∎ Standard language proficiency in Bangla and English.
∎ Willingness to travel independently.

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Identify the areas of capacity strengthening to address disability inclusion by programmes, departments and enterprises (PEDs) of BRAC, including but not limited to disability inclusive programme interventions, disability specific advocacy initiatives, intersectionality, accessibility and reasonable accommodation, disability friendly workplace, disability inclusive communication and safeguarding.
∎ Work closely with PEDs to develop capacity strengthening plans, modules and materials for capacity building and sensitization on disability inclusion and implement related activities in a timely manner.
∎ Facilitate training/workshop/orientation session on disability inclusion for staff of programmes, departments and enterprises of BRAC.
∎ Work closely with Organisations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs) considering that they are the experts on disability inclusion and ensure their engagement in the capacity strengthening journey of BRAC.
∎ Initiate research and human-interest stories to measure/demonstrate the impact of capacity strengthening initiatives in the disability inclusion works of BRAC.
∎ Develop capacity statements of BRAC on disability inclusion and communicate the statement with internal and external audiences.
∎ Work closely with the Human Resource Division to track the progress of capacity strengthening initiatives on disability inclusion.
∎ The role is also required to do any duties assigned by the supervisor that pertain to the goals and objectives of GJD.
∎ Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.

∎ JOB PURPOSE
∎ The position will provide coordination and leadership on capacity building initiatives to strengthen the disability inclusion journey of BRAC. The position requires innovation for a disability responsive workforce and to promote a disability sensitive work environment.
