Job Context:
∎ Unnayan Dhara (UD) is a non government voluntary development organization incepted in 1992 by a group of social activists with a vision of contributing to developing a peaceful and just society in Bangladesh where all people enjoy poverty free, happy, prosperous and dignified life. Since inception UD has been working with a mission to create a process of participatory development and social structural change towards equal rights and sustainable livelihood of the poor, marginal and underprivileged people with a goal of their empowerment and sustainable development. UD was registered under Department of Social Service (reg. no.77/93) in 1993 and under NGO Affairs Bureau (reg. no.1119/97) in 1997. The activities of the organization is focused on Sustainable Development of rural poor people specially marginalized farmers containing the philosophy of sustainable agriculture (an integrated farming system based on holistic-scientific approach, which is ecologically sound, economically viable, socially & culturally just that secures farmer rights and leads to their sustainable development) by means of organic farming. Farmers` rights and gender equity remains in the center of the development interventions while food security towards food sovereignty in ensuring right to food of the people in the face of climate change are the major issues for policy advocacy of the organization. The inspiration behind the emergence of UD was the cognition & commitment of our liberation war in 1971 and the spirit the first constitution of Peoples Republic of Bangladesh specially the of article 19 where the State has to ensure equality of opportunity to all citizens and adopt effective measures to remove social and economic inequality between man and man and to ensure the equitable distribution of wealth among citizens, and of opportunities in order to attain a uniform level of economic development throughout the Republic and to ensure equality of opportunity and participation of women in all spheres of national life. On the other hand, Mr. Talib Bashar (Nayan), the founder of the organization, while he had been working as News Editor of "The Daily Rannar" came to know about deadly harmful impacts of chemical agriculture and about practices of organic agriculture through some articles being sent to publish in the Daily Runner by Agriculturist named Shekh Golam Mohiuddin. So, since inception Sustainable Agriculture has taken as core program of the organization.
∎ The Deputy Coordinator (Advocacy & Lobby) is a senior position responsible for Advocacy, Communication, Relation a significant program analysis for program development and implementation. He/she will report to the Executive Director and works frequently with the Donor community, national advocates, communications experts and researchers. S/he serves on the UD project management team and plays a leadership role in the organization and its networks. He/she will expand a growing of expertise, resources and capacity to move a pro-affordable Project agenda at multiple levels with Govt. and non-Govt. office. Engaging professionals from membership, affiliates, sub-regional organizations, advocates in planning, communications and meeting, training, workshop & seminar activities, Co-ordinator will focus primarily on supporting local and nationally campaign activities capital area and in coordination with partners NGO`s and Donor`s.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ The key components of main activities for achieving the Goal and objectives of the Sustainable Agriculture Programs. To provide a clear and comprehensible guide, a matrix of the relevant provisions of the Sustainable Agriculture Programs.
∎ Organizational development and strengthening- Activities involving through communication with Local, Nationalization and International organic agriculture programs/forum/institute.
∎ Research and development -Continuing research and research information's and upgrading of relevant technologies provide and share with all staffs for action research and development for Sustainable Agriculture Programs;
∎ New Production and New technology -To create & provide to support for cultivation and adoption of production and processing methods to the organic agriculture field;
∎ Extension and capability building development - Advocacy with meeting, seminar, workshop arrange and Communication, Relation and Network buildup to the key Stakeholders , Govt. offices and Corporations, People's Organizations (POs), Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) and other Stakeholders including Individuals and Groups in National and International level
∎ Promotion program- conduct and Initiate activities with advocacy, campaigns , awareness of consumers and Agro-products introducing activities to the consumers, company, corporation and business man for create market development and promotion;
∎ Conduct Market development and commercialization of organic farming products in local, national and international market.
∎ Advocacy and lobbing results- based monitoring, evaluation, analyze progress, and adjust to meet performance goals and monthly reporting of the program.
∎ Monthly analysis and certify: a) total area of production, collection and selling; b) farmers & volume of production and processing; c) market size, market demand and market reach; d) number of farmers certified on first, second and third layer business promotion e) number of organic agriculture farms certified on first, second and third grad for business promotion.
∎ Serve as lead analyst and strategist on UD campaigns with responsibility for researching, targeting, developing, funding, implementing and analyzing campaigns to generate revenue for affordable organic production in the capital city

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 25 to 40 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Five years of experience as officer of Advocacy & Lobby in NGO or companies.
∎ Excellent planning, organizational development and strategic skills and Strong planning, communications, interpersonal skills; ability to interact professionally with people from diverse backgrounds.
∎ Proficiency with campaign finance laws and procedures; Technologically Skilled with databases, spreadsheets, presentations, analysis and reporting writing.
∎ Individual must be a team player, able to handle multiple simultaneous tasks, extremely organized, accurate, responsible, flexible, diplomatic and able to work well technocratic;
∎ S/he should be skilled in data collection, quality control, data management, Computer knowledge (MS word, excel, Power Point, email, internet etc.)
∎ Strong in English and capable to write quality report in Bangla and English is necessary.
∎ Strong ability in problem solving and decision-making.

Salary:
∎ Tk. 42500(Monthly) + Provident fund, Gratuity & two festival bonus and other benefits as per project.
