Meghna Hotel and Resorts Limited (MHRL), a concern of Meghna Group of Industries (MGI), is developing a country-leading Five Star Hotel & Resorts and Commercial Building with state-of-the-art facilities in the heart of Dhaka City, Bangladesh. To support this landmark project, MGI is seeking an experienced Contract & Commercial Manager to oversee contractual, commercial, and financial aspects, including contracts, procurement, claims, and cost control, ensuring budgets and objectives are met. The role will report to the Project Director of MHRL.
Responsibilities:
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, subcontracts, consultancy agreements, and vendor packages to safeguard project interests.
Ensure compliance with FIDIC/NEC and other international standards, and manage contract administration, change orders, extensions of time, and dispute resolution.
Oversee all commercial activities including procurement strategy, tendering, bid evaluation, and award to secure best-value outcomes.
Monitor subcontractor performance and enforce compliance with contractual obligations to protect project delivery.
Handle claims, variations, and settlements with contractors/consultants to minimize commercial risks.
Prepare project budgets, cost plans, and financial forecasts, monitor cash flow, expenditures, and cost-to-complete analysis to maintain budgetary control.
Provide regular cost reports, advise management on potential cost risks, and identify value engineering opportunities to optimize project costs.
Identify commercial and contractual risks, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure compliance with local laws and client/consultant agreements.
Collaborate with the Project Director, Accounts, Procurement, and Engineering teams to align commercial and technical objectives.
Provide commercial advice to senior management, lead contract-related meetings, and negotiate to achieve favorable project outcomes.
