Job Context:
∎ Terms of Reference (ToR) - Consultancy services to provide technical support and advisory services for setting up a suitable "Animal Feed Mill in Bangladesh"
∎ Background:
∎ Agriculture has been considered as the core sector of the economy from the very inception of Bangladesh. Poultry-cattle rearing, and fishing have become an integral part of Bangladesh`s agro-based economy and rural livelihood. According to the report of Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics 2019-20, agricultural sector is contributing 13.35% of the GDP. To meet the increasing protein demand for livestock , feed mills are playing a pivotal role by producing quality feeds.
∎ A reputed international company operating in Bangladesh intends to diversify its business activities in to Agri sector by setting up an animal feed factor to cater for fish breeding and poultry farming.
∎ In this regard the company wishes to obtain services of a technical consultant who has technical knowledge and experience in the industry at least past seven years.
∎ Team and Reporting:
∎ The consultant will work with two senior officials of the Lakdhanavi Ltd., Bangladesh office who shall facilitate/assist the consultant deliver the expected outputs above. The consultant submit a draft report within 04 weeks and the final report within 6 weeks from the date of the signing of a contract assignment.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Scope of Works:
∎ The Consultant after evaluating the current status and future trends in the animal feed industry in Bangladesh should prepare a feasibility study/Investment proposal for setting up an animal feed plant for fish and poultry feed with suitable install capacities to position it in the market as leading supplier within 2-3 year period. The feasibility study should cover the following critical areas.,
∎ i) Market Feasibility
∎ Conduct comprehensive research on Market Size, market segments, Customer base, competitive landscape, market ecosystem, regulatory environment, opportunity assessment. Based on the findings and critical analysis the study should recommend a marketing strategy for entering and positioning the product mix in the market. It should cover pricing, distribution, marketing, collection and customer care strategies with necessary resource requirements. Technical Feasibility:
∎ The study should propose the suitable technology for a production facility, capacities, machinery& equipment, sources of supply, selection process, factory design, production, processes, labeling & packaging ,storing requirements of raw materials and finished products and cover total production process to evaluate technical feasibility.
∎ The study should propose suitable locations for the factory by studying locational advantages. Plant Organizational Structure
∎ The consultant should recommended plant organizational structure with necessary management expertise, organizational competence, and human resources to achieve its production and sales objectives.
∎ ii) Financial Feasibility
∎ Prepare a financial modal after estimating the total project cost breakdown, Financing plan with profitability projections, cash flows, balance sheets with key financial and economic ratios such as break even analysis Pay back period, NPV & IRR, DSCR, Value distribution, perceived risks etc. with scenario analysis for a period of 7-8 years with a set of key assumptions and conclusions.,
Additional Requirements:
∎ A minimum of year experience in a feed mill or livestock production company
∎ Marketing , consultancy and preparation of investment feasibilities in the livestock industry will be considered as an added advantage.
