Good understanding and experience working in climate change adaptation (CCA), Disaster Risk Management (DRM), Resilience WASH, Community resilience building areas, and improved livelihood;
A. Summary of Project
RDRS Bangladesh has been implementing an emergency response program titled “RDRS Emergency Response Program (RERP)” in Rohingya camps and nearby host communities in Cox’s Bazar district since 2019. The RERP contributes to international efforts to meet the humanitarian, and protection needs and increase self-reliance and resilience of the Forcibly Displaced Myanmar Nationals (FDMNs) and host communities through Income Generating Activities (IGAs), tree plantation, life skills with livelihoods, and leadership development training. RERP also works on capacity building of youth and creates market linkage to improve their living standard. This program also aims at cultivating social cohesion, ensuring social inclusion, promoting reforestation, and providing humanitarian support (i.e., food and non-food items, WASH, health, protection, etc.) to the FDMNs as well as the nearby host communities.
RERP has been implementing the "Building Resilience and Protection for the Local Communities to improve their living standards in Cox's Bazar" project in Cox's Bazar.
B. Description of Responsibilities
Major responsibilities of this position are as follows:
Assist in selection of areas as well as project participants;
Plan and implementing field activities at community level to achieve project objectives;
Group formation and facilitate regular group meeting;
Facilitate and support community-based or Sanitations (C8O)/community organizations to develop and execute their annual plan and coordinate with service-providing agencies for building linkages;
Local level networking, influencing with development stakeholders from GO, NGO, and private sector, including local government and different standing committees;
Women and youth entrepreneurship development and market system development for the poor.
Strengthen resilience and adaptation capacities to address difficulties for climate change and disasters
Support social development intervention to the community and issue-based meting for building awareness at local level institution;
Provide training on value chain development, capacity building of CBO/community groups and business plan for enterprise;
Data collection and case story documentation.
