The organization has been working over the last 15 years to promote equity for persons with disabilities and other marginalized people in all spheres of life through education, training, employment, arts and culture, sports, legal services, health care, climate change and information and communication technology.
∎ Access Bangladesh Foundation is looking for a qualified, dynamic, motivated and committed employee under the project titled `Establishing Disaster Resilient Communities in Satkhira (EDRCS).
∎ Core Purpose : Under the direction and guidance of Disability Inclusion Officer of Access Bangladesh Foundation, the incumbent will be responsible for implementing the EDRCS project. He/she will maintain collaborative working relationships with Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs), Volunteers, VSLA groups and Access Bangladesh Foundation Head office.
∎ Employment Status: Contractual (36 Months, subject to availability of funding)
∎ Job location: Shyamnagar upazila under Satkhira district
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Develop database of persons with disabilities who are vulnerable due to disaster and other risks through OPDs and VSLA group.
∎ Identify potential beneficiaries for the project.
∎ Regular follow-up with project beneficiaries.
∎ Support VSLA groups for linked with markets for self-employment initiatives.
∎ Assess livelihood options for project beneficiaries including persons with disabilities to provide appropriate tailor maid support.
∎ Organize different trade based and supply chain training.
∎ Assist in organizing consultation meeting with local administration.
∎ Document ground experience of disaster related measures to conduct evidence-based advocacy.
∎ Organize and facilitate awareness raising sessions of OPDs and community on DIDRR and DICCA.
∎ Safeguarding: Focuses on self-awareness and behavior regulation according to organizational policy.
∎ Maintain gender-sensitive approach in all stages of the project and safeguarding measures with code of conducts,
∎ Ensuring safeguarding and PSEA issues at community level and take appropriate measures.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum of 2 years proven professional experiences in development sector.
∎ Working experience in a remote community setting is an advantage.
∎ Sound knowledge of disability inclusion and development;
∎ Desirable: Candidates need to be highly motivated and committed to work with persons with disabilities.
∎ Strong and inspirable leadership and community mobilization capacity is essential.
∎ Experience in local inclusive development/CBR/disability rights/inclusive training facilitation/support OPD is preferred.
∎ Proven analytical and planning skills.
∎ Has the capacity to maintain close relationships with partners, stakeholders and clients.
∎ Need to be highly motivated and committed to Access Bangladesh's vision, mission and improve the lives of the most vulnerable and marginalized people.
∎ English & Bengali (professional proficiency)
∎ Excellent command on MS Office- MS Word, MS Power Point and very good command on MS Excel.
∎ Have outstanding skills and expertise at communicating by email and other digital platforms.
Salary: Tk. 20000 (Monthly)
