Additional Requirements

• Age at most 45 years

• Minimum 02 (two) years work experience in Group Facilitation/market development/ agribusiness etc.

• S/he must have good experience in livestock and agriculture value chain development project and experiences with private sectors

• Clear understanding about enterprise development, agri-market systems (input and outputs) and farm economy.

• Experience in profit analysis and business planning with enterprises and cooperatives.

• Should have excellent understanding of rural markets, trading relationships and rural service providers.

• Must understand the technical, social, and other constraints in the development field.

• Able and willing to ride on a motorcycle (with valid driving license) for field visits and travel by local transports

• Presentable, smart, energetic, proactive, hardworking, self-motivated, positive attitude, committed team player, good analytical skills and dynamic

• Strong in computer office programs like MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, internet use etc.

• Ability to adapt and work with all culture, gender, religion, race, nationality and age

Job Context

WAVE Foundation is a civil society organization established in 1990, has been implementing multifaceted activities for the socio economic development of the poor and marginalized as well as the establishment of universal human rights and good governance. Besides, the organization is conducting issue based policy advocacy and campaigns. WAVE is driven by its motto `Together for Better Life’ towards the vision of establishing `A just and Prosperous society’. WAVE has organized its activities into 6 programmes: 1) Poverty Eradication and Livelihood Development 2) Community Financing and Entrepreneurship Development 3) Agri-Food System Transformation 4) Governance, Rights and Justice 5) Social Development and Youth Empowerment 6) Climate Justice and Renewable Energy Promotion. The organization invites application from potential candidates for the position of Community Facilitator of 'BD Beef and Goat Value Chain Signature Program' Project at Rajshahi Division funded by HEIFER International Bangladesh.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist to develop capacity of the cooperative management committee on leadership skills, financial management, business management, conflict management and negotiation skills, planning, staffing, organizing, monitoring etc.

• Assist in preparing annual and strategic plan for Cooperative and ensure execution.

• Facilitate training and workshop with Cooperative and different stakeholders and ensure quality of training.

• Reinforce the Heifer's Cornerstones at Cooperative and facilitate periodic PSRP.

• Assist to conduct Cooperative Capacity Assessment and implement the action plan properly.

• Facilitate agro/non-agro based enterprises at HH level and Cooperative level.

• Assist to aggregate and marketing of agricultural products of cooperative.

• Maintain effective communication with market actors (buyer, seller, local traders, supper shop, private sectors etc.) to functional warehouse.

• Assist to explore business opportunities for cooperative and increase income of Cooperative.

• Meet SHGs regularly, visit participant's households, observe field activities critically, identify operational and programmatic constraints and ensure remedial options in a participatory manner with the consultation of PC and Heifer program team.

• Organize animal health camp; ensure vaccination, de-worming and other technical services timely for improving livestock management linking Community Agro Veterinary Entrepreneurs and DLS.

• Assist in developing and implementing bi- laws of cooperative based on members opinion and area context complying government rules and regulations.

• Ensure transparency in cooperative day to day operation and inspire SHG members to involve in Cooperative activities.

• Assist to cooperative management committee to increase saving, budget preparation and fund utilization properly.

• Establish good communication and networking with Union Parishad, Upazila Govt./Non-govt departments particularly Cooperative Office, Livestock Office, Women and Child Affairs Office, Agriculture Office to access services and resources for Cooperative.

• Ensure project implementation at the Cooperative and SHG level.

• Maintain necessary documentation of Cooperative including group records.

• Organize different meeting and workshop as per project requirement.

• Prepare necessary report (Monthly, Quarterly & Yearly).

• Providing all sort of backstopping support for smooth operation of the Cooperative.

• Perform any other task assigned by the management.
