Job Context:

It believes in the integration of right based approach in striving for people-centered sustainable development initiatives, maintaining a level of transparency, participation, accountability, child and gender sensitivity and respect for human women`s rights and dignity principles in management. SAINT-Bangladesh is seeking a professional for the position of Community Facilitator for the project titled "Combat Gender-Based Violence (GBV) through Adolescents and Youth Empowerment" funded by Education and Development Foundation-Educo and the project will be implemented Sadar Upazila in Barishal district from January 2023 to December 2025. Note that this requirement will depend on the availability of donor funds.
∎ Project Summary: The Project will envisage preventing gender-based violence (GBV) through Adolescents and Youth (A&Y) by sensitizing them and strengthening their capacity to promote gender equality. Besides, it will focus on promoting child protection system in the community to create a solid network so that if any incident happened the system can pursue providing support and prompt action to the survivor. It promotes community participation with the active engagement of youth club members, parents, social leaders, and govt. representatives to address and act against GBV. Moreover, the project helps to create more gender-equitable attitudes and behaviors among female and male participants to reduce gender-based violence.
∎ Job Summary: The Community Facilitator is responsible for the day-to-day implementation of GBV prevention activities at the field level, mobilizing community leaders and adolescent and youth groups. Organizing awareness campaigns and discussions/dialogue on GBV, conducting community training, supervising Community Volunteers, and managing budget lines for the project activities. The Community Facilitator (CF) will be responsible for social mobilization for the assigned communities. The incumbent will work with the Union Parishad, adolescents and youth, parents, community leaders, school management committee members and other gatekeepers for raising awareness and changing existing harmful gender norms. S/he will be the face of the project in the community and will lead the community-based activities of this project. S/he will report to the Upazila Coordinator.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Develops work plan for the community mobilization
∎ Develops work plan for the school-based interventions
∎ Facilitates various sessions for raising awareness in the community and in schools.
∎ Facilitates and develops safe spaces for the adolescent girls and women to discuss their issues.
∎ Organizes different events in line with the project interventions.
∎ Works with the relevant committee in the Union Parishad for strengthening community-based child protection system.
∎ Enhance and train women, men, community leaders, religious leaders, boys and girls on GBV prevention and response.
∎ Safely link up survivors who wish to disclose and seek support for their GBV experiences with GBV case management services offered at the women's space.
∎ Disseminate information to the community on where and how to report GBV incidences and encourage reporting
∎ Document and share key GBV risks identified during the implementation
∎ Engage the community in participatory exercises to develop context-specific IEC materials and messages to facilitate community-level sessions.
∎ Organize the awareness-raising, campaign event/program at the community's level in the A&YC area coordinating with different stakeholders
∎ Provides reports as per the implementation plans.
∎ Reports to the Project Coordinator and based in assigned Union.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Minimum of 3 years working experiences in the relevant field.
∎ Motorcycle driving skills and valid driving license.
∎ Male/Female (female will be given priority)
∎ Competent in using MS Word, MS Excel, and Power Point presentation.
∎ Good facilitation skill of Training, Seminar and Advocacy programs.
∎ Ability to visit communities frequently.
∎ Good influencing skills.
∎ Clear Understanding on the issues project must work on.
∎ Good communication and networking skill.
∎ Good command in English & Bengali, both written and verbal.
∎ Decision making and conflict resolution skills.

Salary: Tk. 19000 (Monthly)
