Job Context:
∎ Currently FES is recruiting a Communications and Project Officer for its Bangladesh office. FES is looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated communication expert to foster a steady flow of communication as well as project implementer to support to the Programme Advisors.
∎ The selected applicant will manage both our internal and external communication and will support FES Bangladesh with her/his expertise of strategic communication for development agencies and INGOs/ NGOs. He/she should be excited about developing and implementing plans to engage target audiences and spread the message about the work of FES in Bangladesh. The applicant will also support the Resident Representative in his/her communications and works. The ability to communicate effectively in English and Bangla (orally and written) is a must.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Develop, support and promote communication goals with the FES Bangladesh team;
∎ Maintain liaison with the FES regional office for execution of regional/ international level communication works.
∎ Identify target audience and create strategies to effectively reach and engage them;
∎ Write, edit and manage social media in close cooperation with the team and under the supervision of the Resident Representative;
∎ Develop and disseminate information, education and communication (IEC) materials that increase FES's visibility;
∎ Assist to draft and create content of the FES' website;
∎ Design, plan and implement projects under the supervision of Programme Advisors;
∎ Prepare and organize events from a communication as well as project perspectives together with the FES team members;
∎ Support Programme team in project related activities whenever needed;
∎ Work closely with the FES Bangladesh programme team to develop and strengthen internal communication tools and strategies;
Additional Requirements:
∎ Strong presentation and communication (oral and written) skills in English and Bangla
∎ Good organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines
∎ Excellent creative and critical thinking skills
∎ Experience in creating targeted communication content
∎ Experience in graphics, web design and content production is a plus
∎ Demonstrated ability to use social media channels effectively
∎ Skills in copywriting and editing is a plus
∎ An enthusiastic and positive attitude that will help you gain the trust of colleagues and external parties alike.
∎ Knowledge of programming, budgeting, and coordination.
∎ Understanding of programme logic in the development sector of Bangladesh.
∎ Minimum 3 years of experience in the same or relevant position.
∎ Proven track record of project management and coordination.
∎ Working experience on climate change issues will be given preference.
