Job Context:
∎ Centre on Integrated Rural Development for Asia and the Pacific (CIRDAP), a regional and inter-governmental organization invites applications from Bangladeshi nationals for the position of Communication Officer in Information and Communication Division for its Headquarters located in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
∎ Position Title : Communication Officer
∎ Status : Fixed Term
∎ Duty Station : Dhaka, Bangladesh

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Under the direct supervision of the Director (Learning and Knowledge Management Division) the incumbent is expected to perform following jobs:
∎ Develop and Implement a Communication Plan to effectively disseminate core activities of CIRDAP to CMCs, CLIs and other stakeholders;
∎ Produce high-quality, policy briefs, press releases, talking points, speeches and blog posts media contents (Product) on CIRDAP activities and its widespread dissemination;
∎ Help plan and implement communications support for major events including CIRDAP TC GC EC and other Programs
∎ Research, fact check, proofread and ensure accuracy of communications outputs
∎ Act as a Public Relation Officer and network with relevant medias within CMCs;
∎ Ensure regular update of CIRDAP website
∎ Ensure publications of CIRDAP's articles (Special features) Rural Development issues within Asia pacific Region by monthly;
∎ Develop and promote "CIRDAP Brands" through accessories and various activities; and
∎ Oversee IT operations of CIRDAP.
∎ Perform other duties as may be required and assigned by the Director.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 25 to 45 years
∎ 5-7 years' experience in a similar communications position. Experience of working in a similar organization is a plus;
∎ Competencies:
∎ Demonstrate flexibility in the face of changing organization;
∎ Outstanding writing and editing skills; strong attention to detail; ability to turn technical information into compelling stories;
∎ Language skill in English in advance level.
∎ Experience in managing editorial projects desirable
∎ Offers new solutions to problems; demonstrates an 'outside the box' attitude; takes an interest in new ideas and new ways of doing things;
∎ Commitment to continuous learning. Keeps abreast of new developments in own profession; actively seeks to develop oneself professionally and personally; contributes to the learning of colleagues; shows willingness to learn from others; seeks feedback to learn and improve.
∎ Able to balance up conflicting situation in order to manage work flow;
∎ Ensure the completion of expected output and meet critical deadlines;
∎ Should be a good team player;
∎ Computer skill in MS Office especially word, excel, power point is a must, skill in adobe Photoshop and illustrator is a plus;
∎ Exhibit sound judgment and ability to make reasonable decision in absence of direction.
∎ Staff members of CIRDAP are expected to show flexibility in their approach to work and be willing to undertake other tasks that are reasonably allocated to them, but which are not part of their regular job description. Where any task becomes a regular part of an employee's responsibilities, the job description will be changed in consultation with the employee and the management.
