∎ • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and the local language.
∎ • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
∎ • Willingness to travel frequently to project locations.
Responsibilities & Context:
∎ ESDO was established in 1988 with the aim of supporting poor and marginalized people affected by the devastating flood and gradually moving towards achieving a broader vision of achieving sustainable, secured, and resilient livelihoods for these poor and marginalized people through improving their overall sustainable development. For the last more than three and a half decades of its development journey, ESDO has set an outstanding example of a sustainable development model for the underprivileged communities of Bangladesh. ESDO has been working in the country's primarily unserved and underserved locations, nurturing a community-focused participatory approach and people's ownership. Consequently, the ESDO's working area has already established an enabling environment. We have made notable achievements in livelihood improvement, food security and nutrition, education, women's empowerment, health, the promotion of children's rights, adolescent and youth engagement, and the rights of ethnic minorities. During this long span, we have adapted to the changing situation and provided the most time-bound effective services, especially to the poor and disadvantaged people. Considering the government's development policies, we are currently implementing a considerable number of projects and programs, including a microfinance program, through a community-focused and people-centered approach to accomplish the government's development agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN as a whole. One of the most dynamic organizations, ESDO, is expanding its development interventions across 408 upazilas under 53 districts of Bangladesh, thereby reaching over 15 million impoverished and vulnerable individuals.
∎ The Monitoring & Documentation Officer will play a critical role in tracking the progress, ensuring accountability, and documenting the outcomes of the Agriculture & Climate Project. The officer will be responsible for designing and implementing a robust monitoring and evaluation (M&E) framework, maintaining comprehensive project documentation, and preparing reports to communicate project impacts effectively.

∎ Job Responsibilities:
∎ Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E):
∎ • Develop and implement an M&E framework to track project activities, outputs, and outcomes.
∎ • Regularly monitor project progress and evaluate performance against predefined indicators.
∎ • Conduct field visits to collect qualitative and quantitative data from project sites.
∎ Data Collection and Analysis:
∎ • Design data collection tools, surveys, and methodologies for effective information gathering.
∎ • Compile, analyze, and interpret data to inform project planning and decision-making.
∎ • Maintain an organized database of project data and findings.
∎ Documentation:
∎ • Document key project activities, success stories, lessons learned, and best practices.
∎ • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual project reports.
∎ • Coordinate with project teams to produce communication materials such as case studies and reports.
∎ Compliance and Accountability:
∎ • Ensure that all project monitoring and documentation processes comply with organizational and donor requirements.
∎ • Track project performance to ensure alignment with agreed goals and timelines.
∎ • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and reports.
∎ Capacity Building:
∎ • Train project staff and community stakeholders on M&E systems and reporting requirements.
∎ • Provide technical support to team members to enhance data collection and documentation skills.
∎ Coordination and Reporting:
∎ • Collaborate with the project team, partners, and stakeholders to ensure efficient data flow.
∎ • Prepare high-quality reports for donors, stakeholders, and organizational leadership.
∎ • Represent ESDO in relevant forums, workshops, and meetings to share project progress and learnings.
