∎ Background:
∎ The LHSS Project is USAID`s flagship initiative in integrated health systems strengthening, with a goal to help low- and middle- income countries transition to sustainable, self-financed health systems as a means to support universal health coverage. The project will support country-level efforts to reduce financial barriers to health care, ensure equitable access to essential health services for all people, and improve the quality of health care. Equally important, it will equip host countries to sustain progress after the project ends. It will do so by ensuring that local institutions and organizations have the technical capacity and expertise to independently design, implement, and manage continued health system strengthening activities.

∎ Opportunity:
∎ Abt Associates seeks a qualified Communication, Documentation and Learning Officer for the USAID-funded Local Health System Sustainability (LHSS) Bangladesh Urban Health and Financing Activity. USAID Bangladesh is supporting the Government of Bangladesh (GOB) in its efforts to achieve Universal Health Coverage (UHC) by 2030. Bangladesh has directed attention toward improving coverage, efficiency, and quality of essential health care services, with a particular focus on improved governance, stewardship, financing, monitoring, and community engagement in urban areas. It is critical in order to achieve UHC that the GOB strengthens its capacity and commitment to financing self-reliance of the health sector.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ The Documentation, Communication and Learning officer will be responsible for overall communication, documentation and knowledge management of LHSS activities including: content development for the LHSS Bangladesh newsletter, report writing, media communication, documentation of program process and learnings. Key roles and responsibilities include:
∎ Work closely with LHSS Bangladesh team and Abt communication team to maintain communication strategy for Bangladesh following LHSS branding and marking policy.
∎ Work with LHSS Bangladesh team and Abt communication team to support visibility of the project activities by writing entries in Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and other LHSS media platforms;
∎ Prepare news, blog, press release, event reports or any other promotional content for the website, social media and newsletter
∎ Design e-newsletters, briefs, banners, posters or any other promotional materials;
∎ Develop LHSS learning calendar and organize regular learning sessions in collaboration with technical team and other stakeholders
∎ Document lessons learned, challenges and best practices;
∎ Work with LHSS team to collect stories, photographs and video from the field during project activities and site visit;
∎ Maintain digital archiving of all workshop/meeting/event reports, press releases and photos;
∎ Develop a mechanism for regular collection of stories, events for the newsletter and LHSS social media;
∎ Monitor and manage all information flow mechanism;
∎ Support LHSS team to develop video documentary;
∎ Support preparation of quarterly and annual project reports;
∎ Coordinate activities with Abt Communication Department;
∎ Enabling a friendly collaborative working culture within the team, actively sharing information and knowledge to enable the team to ensure effective support to the rest of the organization
∎ Promote and ensure compliance with the requirements of Abt's HR policies, Abt Code of Conduct and its associated policies and Core Humanitarians Standards of Accountability to ensure maximum protection to program beneficiaries.
∎ Any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the line manager .

Additional Requirements:
∎ More than 3 -5 years of experience in a similar position will be preferable.
∎ Experience in photography and video documentation
∎ Relevant experience in graphics design, report writing, and documentation will be given priority
∎ Excellent IT skills
∎ Excellent command over written and oral Bangla and English
