Responsibilities & Context:

Job Context:

Friends In Village Development Bangladesh (FIVDB), in partnership with Welthungerhilfe (WHH), is implementing the multi-country initiative titled "Nutrition Smart CommUNITY (NSC): Strengthening Adaptive and Inclusive Food Systems for Improved Nutrition and Climate Resilience in South Asia." Spanning across Bangladesh, India, and Nepal, this project aims to address the interconnected challenges of food insecurity, malnutrition, and climate change vulnerability among marginalized rural communities. In Bangladesh, the project focuses on establishing "Nutrition Smart CommUNITIES" by promoting sustainable, climate-resilient agricultural practices, enhancing local food systems, and improving the nutritional status of women and children. The duration of the project is up to December 31, 2029, and the job is contractual for the project period.

Job Summary:

The Cluster Facilitator is a vital field-level position responsible for the direct implementation and grassroots coordination of the Nutrition Smart CommUNITY (NSC) project. Working under the guidance of the Project Manager and Technical Experts, the Facilitator serves as the primary link between FIVDB and the target communities. The core objective of this role is to organize, mobilize, and empower rural households to adopt climate-resilient agricultural practices and improved nutritional behaviors.

Key Responsibilities:

Community Engagement & Mobilization

  • Facilitate the formation and strengthening of farmer groups, producer organizations, and community-based institutions.

  • Ensure inclusive participation of women, youth, and marginalized groups in all project activities.

  • Build trust and maintain strong relationships with local stakeholders.

Learning Hub Facilitation

  • Support the establishment and operationalization of Learning Hubs within the cluster.

  • Organize and facilitate training sessions, demonstrations, and knowledge-sharing events.

  • Promote peer-to-peer learning and dissemination of best practices in climate-resilient agriculture and nutrition.

Technical Support & Capacity Building

  • Provide hands-on guidance to CSPs, SHGs, CBOs, FPOs on adaptive agricultural practices, diversified cropping, and nutrition-sensitive approaches.

  • Promote climate-smart technologies and sustainable food system innovations.

  • Support behavior change communication (BCC) activities related to nutrition and resilience.

Project Implementation & Coordination

  • Assist in planning and executing cluster-level project activities in alignment with project goals.

  • Coordinate with local government bodies, NGOs, and private sector actors.

  • Ensure timely delivery of inputs, services, and interventions.

Monitoring, Reporting & Learning

  • Collect field-level data and track progress against project indicators.

  • Document success stories, lessons learned, and innovations from the Learning Hub.

  • Provide regular reports and feedback to the Project Manager.
