Civil Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Civil Engineer to join the BuildCon team. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, architects, and contractors to ensure that every structure we deliver meets the highest standards of safety, quality, and design intent. The role operates on a blended basis — primarily office-based, with scheduled site visits as required.

Key Responsibilities

What You Will Be Doing

Structural Design & Analysis

Evaluate and design load-bearing structures, foundations, and frameworks for residential and commercial developments.

Site Supervision

Monitor construction activities primarily through remote oversight, with scheduled site visits to verify progress, resolve issues, and ensure compliance with approved drawings and safety standards.

Project Planning & Scheduling

Develop detailed work plans and timelines, coordinating across teams to maintain project milestones.

Quality Control & Assurance

Conduct inspections and material testing to uphold construction quality standards throughout all project phases.

Cost Efficiency & Waste Reduction

Identify areas of excess expenditure on-site, minimise material wastage, and optimise procurement quantities to keep project costs in check.

Regulatory Compliance

Ensure all work aligns with BNBC codes, RAJUK guidelines, and relevant local authority requirements.

Contractor & Vendor Coordination

Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants to manage procurement and resolve technical issues.

Progress Reporting

Prepare and present detailed progress reports, issue logs, and cost updates to senior management.

Drawing Review & Approvals

Review architectural and structural drawings, flagging discrepancies and coordinating design revisions.
