Job Responsibilities:
∎ Chief of Party will lead technical programming and project administration, and will retain ultimate responsibility for the project's performance for all three result areas. They will be the key liaison between USAID/Bangladesh and all other counterparts and implementing partners (listed below). The COP will report directly to USAID/Bangladesh and to Abt's home office Portfolio Manager. The position is full-time.Tasks may include, but are not limited to, the following:
∎ Provide overall leadership, management, and technical direction for the Activity, ensuring an integrated vision among different result components, actors, and implementing partners, and a focus on achieving required results via evidence-based, market-oriented methodologies and approaches
∎ Oversee planning and implementation of the technical strategy and activities in a timely manner within the approved budget, in collaboration with the Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP), implementing partners, and Abt home office
∎ Identify issues and risks related to program implementation in a timely manner and suggest appropriate adjustments
∎ Serve as the primary point of contact with USAID with regard to day-to-day implementation and management matters relating to the project
∎ Lead planning and implementation with respect to human resource management, reporting, compliance, logistics, property, communications, environmental compliance, and all other contractual obligations in collaboration with the DCOP, Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Team, and F&A Director
∎ Directly supervise the DCOP, Solutions Integration Team Leader, F&A Director, and Communications Specialist
∎ Travel to partner and implementing sites as needed
Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum 7 years of (progressively responsible) experience managing complex market systems development and nutrition programs in LMICs (preferably including experience in Bangladesh). Prior COP experience for USG projects is also preferred
∎ Working knowledge and experience with USG-funded program management, policies, regulations, and procedures
∎ Demonstrated experience working in partnership with host governments, international donors, and implementing partners
∎ Demonstrated experience in facilitative, market-driven, and consumer-oriented approaches towards improving nutrition outcomes
∎ Experience managing or implementing projects related to rural actors and social and behavioral change communication and/or human centered design (HCD)
∎ Proven record of excellent management, leadership, decision-making, and interpersonal skills
∎ Demonstrated team leader with effective cross-cultural interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate a common vision among team members and stakeholders
∎ Ability to resolve sensitive and complicated work issues with senior high-level country counterparts, donor representatives, and staff
∎ Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines with quality products
∎ Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are required
