Job Responsibilities:
∎ Create new paint formulations or improve existing ones. This involves selecting raw materials such as resins, pigments, solvents, and additives to achieve desired properties like color, durability, and coverage.
∎ Conduct extensive testing on paint formulations to ensure they meet quality and performance standards. This may involve evaluating factors like adhesion, drying time, hardness, and resistance to environmental factors.
∎ Work on developing and maintaining a color palette for the paints. This involves precise measurement and adjustment of pigment concentrations to achieve specific colors.
∎ Stay informed about and ensure compliance with regulations related to paint formulations. This includes understanding the impact of regulatory changes on raw materials and adjusting formulations accordingly.
∎ Improve manufacturing processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs while maintaining product quality. This may involve collaborating with production teams to scale up formulations.
∎ Work closely with cross-functional teams, including chemists from different specialties, engineers, and production personnel. Collaboration is crucial for a successful product development process.
∎ Stay abreast of industry trends and consumer preferences. This information can guide the development of new products that meet market demands.
∎ Investigate and resolve issues related to product quality or manufacturing processes. This could involve identifying the root cause of problems and implementing corrective actions.
∎ Maintain detailed records of formulations, test results, and processes. Accurate documentation is essential for quality control and future reference.
∎ Explore new technologies and materials to enhance the performance and sustainability of paint products. This could involve researching and implementing cutting-edge developments in the field.
∎ Work towards developing environmentally friendly formulations, considering factors like low VOC (volatile organic compound) content and the use of sustainable materials.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 27 to 40 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Minimum of 3 years’ experience in R&D/new product development for paint and coating formulations and color matching.
∎ Knowledge of Enamels, Lacquers, Chalks and Polyurethane based paints.
∎ Understanding of Paint properties like Gloss, Dry time, Flexibility, Adhesion etc.
∎ Working knowledge of R&D Phase Gate Process & Practice
